So I'm reading through the bellydancing community and I come across this quote from Hesiod in shanmonster's post:

"Do not let a woman with a sexy rump deceive you with wheedling and coaxing words; she is after your barn."

That's right, kids. I'm after your barn.

My house still smells like rancid cough syrup, so I came to hang with Mike and Lucas. Out of boredom, I got sucked into doing this, for the dubious pleasure of all who enter here.

One of my neighbors (somewhere in the building) decided to try their hand at candymaking. The concoction they ended up burning made the entire building smell like hot, rancid cherry cough syrup. I got 14 oysters from the oyster seller at the Farmer's Market today, and ate all but one. While shucking them (crosslegged on the balcony of my apartment) I thought about the various oyster conversations I've had over the years. Most of them were inane to the point of insanity. Yesterday was a far slower day than I'd originally planned. I woke up late and went to Canvasworks to knit for three hours, surrounded by gardeners and caterers and grandmothers and one skinny college girl with large-breasted women tattooed on her biceps.
