At this moment, it's Freya Crescent from FFIX. I've been replaying IX to do the massive screencap dump, and I love everything about Freya and her friendship with Zidane. She really calls him on his bullshit.

Because it came out of nowhere and clubbed me over the head, basically. P3 may well be the single game that's affected me most since FF6 or maybe FFT. Likewise I didn't expect to like Yukari so much at all, she's far from my usual type, but by the time I was halfway through the game I couldn't stand the thought of not having her to myself.

Actually, that's a good question. Besides the fantastic app story of awesome from CFO, what made you and Raph decide to app FF12 and those two in particular? I never got very far in the game, and I... well, you know... I always kind of got the impression that pretty much nobody likes Vaan.

(I mean, I don't mean anything by that. Lord knows Yukari gets a fair bit of hate from her fandom. It's something I accept.)

"Terra" is the closest thing to a trauma button that Zidane has, but that being said he has more or less adjusted to Jomy being from a different Terra and having a similar agenda as the people of the Terra that he's from. Jomy is a good person and so...Zidane likes him! But he just wishes that he'd at least give some warning before he asks tough questions about having babies and stuff.

At first Jomy thought Zidane was everything wrong with humanity ever but now he likes him for his planetgay. Or, well, for the affection and closeness to a planet that he has. Zidane is like the FINAL FUSION of Physis and Tony: one who envisions potential and one who has the power to make that vision reality. Also if you want to save your planet you need to strike out on your own and make babies. :|

Oh man I did, once upon a time, find a site with an actual thorough summary of IX's plot that I didn't hate. And now I can't find it.

THE THING WITH FINAL FANTASY IS THAT THE PLOT GOES COMPLETELY INSANE 2/3 OF THE WAY THROUGH. And aalll that Terra stuff and especially the WACKY PLANET MEMORIES are all in that last 1/3 of "what the fuck?!" Most summaries get vague or stop at that point. A-and on top of that Final Fantasy IX was meant as a "tribute" game for Final Fantasies I-VII (VIII not so much just because they were actually developed at the same time), so there are lots and lots of allusions to other games that people didn't/do not get because they weren't out in the U.S. at the time or because they're morons and think that FF1's Garland = FF9's Garland. Which. Isn't. True.

His mind would kind of... bend in ways it's not supposed to and he'd have to go lie down away from the park somewhere and process it, but eventually he'd rationalize it as DIFFERENT WORLDS, LOL, WHO KNOWS and would go enjoy himself and privately laugh his ass off at the costumes. And he'd go see the shows like the fireworks shows and Fantasmic and the parades and Dream Along with Mickey and NO I JUST GOT SOMETHING IN MY EYE, SHUT UP SORA :< He'd also love the thrill rides like Expedition Everest and Rock'n Rollercoaster and Test Track (and is my huge Disney World bias showing yet) and Soarin', though that's not really a thrill ride.

How much attention does Zidane pay to his tail when he's washing/grooming? Like does he bother shampooing/brushing the fur?

Normally, he doesn't pay too much attention to it; it's kinda like remembering to wash your feet. Sure he suds up around the base and stuff, but he rarely bothers to get the whole thing. His fur is pretty short, so there's no real need to brush it.

However.

If he was, say, gearing up for a really big date? He'd shampoo AND condition it AND brush it and TAKE FOREVER IN THE BATHROOM.
