The tank? It's really cute or kawaii as they say here.

Japan the country is good. Japan the work assignment is sucking the life out of me. I need to take some vacation time when I get back!!! It's been helpful being here though. :)

i'm SO sorry to bother you on here, but i'm from knitting and i need some help on the sock pattern you said youve used
i figured it would make more sense to just ask you, since i know you've used it instead of spamming the community with so many 'help me please' posts

if that's not okay i'm really sorry, i won't bother you again & i'm sorry for wasting your time

Hi, you're not bothering me! What's the question?

well the pattern is all very stationary until you get to the heel shaping
it says to put all the stiches onto two needles and as far as i can tell you knit one up a few inches
my problem is how to do that
it says slip one stich purlwise, k one for the knit side
slip one purlwise, p one for the purl side
but this whole slipping business doesn't make sense to me
it just makes everything really tight and hard to work with
am i doing something wrong, or do i just not understand the pattern?

That's called "The Heel Stitch", and it's just putting all the HEEL stitches onto two needles...not all the stitches for the sock, the other two - the instep stitches - are still on other needles, right? I think that pattern calls for 3 needles, but I do everything on four...makes it easier, I find.

So, yea, the Heel Stitch...Slip one, Knit 1, all the way across on the knit side, then turn and slip one, purl across on the other side. Do you know how to slip a stitch? It really does work very well, and makes the heel all cushy soft. I've never explained it to anyone, so I'm sorry if I'm not helping - let me see if I can find something that will help...

Darn, I can't find anything - I would post over at the Knitting community and see if someone there can talk you through it - I'm sorry! I couldn't "get" knitting socks till someone SHOWED me...couldn't do it from a written pattern, which is why I was hoping I could find a video or tutorial for you. I'm sorry! I hope someone in the community can help you!
