Had a nice visit with an old friend and a new one on Sunday; wished my babe didn't have Chicken Pox so she & Edwin could've joined us for a wonderful dinner, but still, a grand time was had by all - I think ( Read more... )

Japan the country is good. Japan the work assignment is sucking the life out of me. I need to take some vacation time when I get back!!! It's been helpful being here though. :)

It's a good thing I bring an extra tote bag when I travel. I bought lots of stuff. kimono, fans, chopsticks, pearls, etc etc. So. yeah. :P

Have you heard the English "Mnemonic" to remember how to say "You're Welcome" in Japanese? I know how to say it, but found it hysterical when a Japanese guy in a restaurant used to say it the English/Funny way.

ROFL - I hadn't heard that other one!! My folks hosted a Japanese Exchange TEACHER one time. He was a teacher of English in Japan, but was Japanese. He was teaching ME Japanese while I helped him learn better English - such a blast!! I wish I remembered more of it...I do love the spoken Japanese language. Did your company give you lessons, or did you know it already?

I am picking it up while I'm here from my coworkers. I imagine that if I got sent here for a longer period of time I would probably pick up even more of it. Not sure I would master kanji, katakana, hiragana or gaiji though.
