woohoo for fellow band nerds! Only we called them band geeks at my school...and I was one of them! Started out on sax, moved to flute...also had a whirl on the xylophone one year. Flag line two years, co-captain my senior year. God, now I feel the need to find my old photos.

I remember that my director liked to change the theme song every two weeks. We would keep the same opener, drum feature and closer, but the song in the middle changed...and that was hell on us flag girls! We had to come up with a new routine every two weeks. I remember doing some funky dance with folding chairs to Pretty Woman...*shudder*

I don't think I knew that you were a fellow band geek! Yay us! (and yes, I demand that you find some old pictures for us) Girl your band career sounded intense. I tried to play my friends flute one night, it didn't work too well. I was in winter guard for a month or so, but missed my trumpet too much I think.

Seriously!? What the hell? I can only imagine having to try and make a new routine every week.

OH MY GOD.
THIS POST IS KIND OF AMAZING YOU KNOW.
*adds to memories*

Ahhh!!! You guys were SO adorable! Not to mention those green uniforms are absolutely bitching dude, I love them. Seeing as how we've had our uniforms since 1981, I think I'd be happy with anything else. :P

How many kids were in your band??? You guys sound like you must have been totally awesome, getting to have ~themed shows~ and all that jazz. We're playing two Michael Jackson songs and the dance team is dancing with us to Thriller, does that count??? LOL.

Okay so being a percussionist and all I of course noticed the drums, and OH MY GOD YOUR QUADS HAD FIVE DRUMS?!?!? WHAT DO YOU EVEN CALL THEM WHEN THEY'VE GOT FIVE, I'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN THAT BEFORE OMG. THAT IS SERIOUSLY AMAZING AND I'M SO JEALOUS THEM THEY'RE SO FRAKKING AWESOME. OMG. But seriously, what do you call it, a tenor drum?? A...pent-something drum??? LOL. I'll shutup now. :D

If you can't already tell, I love this post sfm it'd ridiculous. :D

OMG. That is the coolest Halloween outfit ever! Ahhh, I would love to steal that idea one of these days!

You guys were still a good size band! I know we've got kids who do jazz band or concert band, and not always marching, so I'm sure we've got more than 20. It's just such a sad number, oh man...

LOL QUINTS. THAT IS AMAZING. I almost played quads this year, but decided to go with bass drum just to start off. They sound so badass though, I seriously want to play them!!! I might play them next year, they're just that cool. :P

This was pretty much my favorite post of the month, tbh. I loved it so much. ;)
(and I love that icon, awwwww)

Oh please do! No one had a clue what we were supposed to be, we also had random sombreros on our heads with our school initals on them btw, but that's okay. We were proud nerds.

You *should* play quads if you can! I agree, they do sound amazing, and that's a good enough reason to play them I think. They are totally badass.

You're too kind! Thank you!
