So I was looking back, and it appears I haven’t updated since about August - wow, didn’t realize it had been that long. This is going to be long and will most likely jump around a bit, so don’t get lost!

I am SO GLAD you are updating! I miss reading your entries.
I remember when you got Goose! I can't believe it's been three years. Holy crap. It's so weird to think about how long LJ has been around. Man, I am so grateful for it.
PS watch for a paypal! Had to have Joel's roommate send it, still having credit card authorization issues, grrrr!
That's exactly what Kim and I went through when we decided to not have any more rats.
They are wonderful pets that are intelligent and affectionate. It's way to easy to get super attached to them and with a max lifespan of 3 to 4 years (4 if they are REALLY long lived) combined with the fact that they are group animals that are physiologically harmed by being with out any other rats for a prolonged time meant that we were constantly cycling through rats. That was just too much heartbreak, loosing a cherished friend every 6 months or so. After the last was gone we kept walking by the cage to check on them only to remember they were gone.
We have decided to stick to longer lived animals from now on. Our cats are like 5 or 6 years old hopefully with plenty of years ahead of them.
