A change of scenery was good. After spending more than a year within Nautilus' realm, some of the recommendations from close friends to venture outside of the castle more often just...seemed to fit. Thomas had no problem in trying; he needed the shove. There needed to be some time spent away from the city, and traveling in a group such as this one was all very new to him. But it wasn't bad.

There was just something very unnerving about the area they started off in.

The sound of Axel's voice caught his attention, however, as he looked at the triangular-shaped door with its internal coolness wafting out into the air.

And it was dark.

The castle master leaned forward slightly as he peered down. "...Where...is the floor...?"

Honestly, there couldn't have been a better time for a vacation.

It had been ages since Sora had been to another world. Over two years, he realized - three, if the time that had passed when he went back home counted (and, to be honest, he wasn't sure if or how it did). Way too long, anyway.

So he didn't mind at all when the group ended up in a dark forest instead of a snowy city. Landing in the wrong place was just part of the adventure...and besides, he wasn't going to complain about seeing Halloween Town again. He was almost tempted to stray from the group for a few minutes and go take a look around the town itself, but he decided against it. Wandering around alone didn't sound like much fun.

He also didn't seem to notice that his sudden wardrobe change, either - after all, he's used to it, even if it has been awhile

Leaning back, the boy made way for the keyblade wielder, protesting slightly in the process.

"But-- "

The rest of that thought never made it into a completely formed sentence because it took Thomas several seconds to realize that Sora didn't actually look like Sora. His eyes went wider than usual as he panicked quietly at the sight of his friend's physical deformities and his daredevil plunge into the deep deep dark dark deep dark pit.

"Sora!!" He finally cried out, scrambling forward, clinging to the tree's door frame. "...Oh dear..." Nothing but black. No sign of Sora anywhere. Not good. Another minute was spent floundering over the disappearance before he took a breath and leaned in once more. "...Sora?? Sora!!! Oh please tell me you're okauAAAAAAAAAAAHHhhh-- !!!"

Well. That was one way Thomas sabotaged his own entry. He lost his grip.

"... Well now I'm really not going down there."

He'd turned himself human when they'd arrived, but hung back. The last thing he wanted to do was go jumping through doors into nowhere. Especially when the jump ended with you vanishing into thin air.

"Isn't there some other, less terrifying way?"

[Christmas night, late]

It took a while, for Demyx to catch Axel on his own. It doesn't really surprise him, as he's pretty sure half the point of this trip is to be a distraction from people leaving, and being alone wouldn't help that at all. Still, it was harder than he'd anticipated, thanks to Isa sticking to Axel like glue and sending off some vibes that heavily implied that he didn't want Demyx anywhere near him. Which Demyx shouldn't have been surprised by.

So, when he finally got around to it, it was late. Really late, to the point of most everyone probably being asleep. After months of living with him, though, Demyx was pretty sure Axel would be awake. Still, to be safe, he knocked rather quietly on the door of wherever Axel was staying. "Axel?"

One of the downsides to visiting other worlds was the difference between how they and Nautilus functioned, especially after having lived there for so long. Not all of the differences were bad, of course; most of them were familiar differences, and almost reassuring to notice. But there was something to be said for not feeling hunger in the City of Change (unless one thought they would, of course). And there was definitely something to be said for not strictly needing sleep in Nautilus.

Here, however, Axel couldn't simply stay up all night without consequence. And so, when the knock came on the door of the room he was staying in, Axel was in the process of trying to get comfortable. Which, for him, meant ensuring that he absolutely would not roll onto his back. It was a process that bordered on downright annoying, and he was just fine with the interruption

"Hey." Demyx smiled a little- it was kind of nice to see him without Isa attached to his side, even if the shirtless was a little unexpected (not that he minded). "Can I come in for a minute?"

"Yeah, sure." He stepped back out of the way, allowing Demyx room to enter before he'd close the door behind him. "Everything alright?"

He wasn't sure what day it was, exactly. Probably because it wasn't quite "day" anymore. It was dark, there were lights on everywhere. And there was a package stuffed under his jacket. It wasn't what he had in mind when he'd first decided on what to put into said package. But... this trip had changed his plans.

He was lurking around wherever it was their group had chosen to stay, standing out in the snow, and watching the lights. It didn't seem all that different from Nautilus, to be honest.

Or maybe he was just being cynical and nervous.
