My grandmother sends me email forwards and out of the kindness of my heart, I usualy read them. Sometimes they're kind of witty, most of the time I've seen them before or they're just plain lame. If they're political, I try to just delete them because I'll make myself mad ( Read more... )

Ben was throwing things all morning and had to go in time-out like 324 times. I told her that the time-outs were fine (we do it too) but that he needs to know what's OK to do, not just what's not OK. I was on the phone with my mom yesterday, and she told me about a story she heard on the news(?) about a 2-year-old girl who called 911 and said "Mama owie." The operator said "Your mommy has an owie?" and she just said "Mama owie" over and over again. They sent an ambulance and sure enough, her mother had passed out from a migrane and hit her head ( Read more... )

Today when I was home for lunch, Ben was trying to tell me something. I don't try to understand what goes on in the head of a 21 month old, but he kept saying "Mama pick up" which is not the same as his usual "Mama up peese" (actually, if we're doing the transliterations, it would be "Mama peek up") anyway, I asked him? So this reporter at my work went on a bus tour this morning to cover the opening of some sort of power plant or factory or something. It left at 8 a.m. He was supossed to come back and write on deadline to get the story in today's paper.
