Why not. [ She looks at the food she'd gotten and shakes her head. ] It's probably better that I don't eat this, anyway. [ She drops it in to a trash can and just goes back to picking at the cotton candy, leading Thane in the direction of the Zipper. ]

A wise decision. [He says dryly, following her to the Zipper line. He regards a bright chart, claiming he has to be a certain height to ride and the disappointed children who couldn't. His lip quirks slightly before turning back to her.]

Curious, some things do not change despite the universe. You are from Earth, aren't you?

I am. Guess we can't all have the exciting space travelling back ground your crew seems to. [ She gives a smile to Thane, then regards the children thoughtfully. ] This is all pretty much the most familiar thing I've seen to Earth since I got here.

[Carnival food is delicious. It brings back some memories of going to fairs with Drusilla, even though then, they were more likely to eat the vendors than the food, but the smells, the sights, the tastes...

Spike's got a plate of fried dough and he's looking around to see what else he can buy.]

Thought vampires didn't eat. Or walk around in the sun. [His gaze searches for a magical trinket or ring to explain it.] You're not a special snowflake vampire are you?

Never been one to follow rules. [Though in truth, that only explains why he's eating food. The sun thing's an alternate universe benefit. But actually saying that wouldn't go along with his tell Lindsey as little as possible plan.]

[Have a shrug to go with that jaded dig at you, Spike. Whatever Spike's eating smells good, though, he tries not to eye it. He probably should have raided the icebox back at the apartment complex before he came here. Not that his roomies would have appreciated that.]

[He rolls his eyes.] Different dimension, mate. Different rules. Obviously. [He breaks off a piece of the fried dough.] And the no eating thing's always been more of a guideline than a hard and fast rule. For me, at least.

[He checks for a reaction to the dropping of that particular name.]

[He gets a raised eyebrow for that.] Is it? Seems like the sort of thing the big poof'd say.
