Shiori stood stock still during the entire fight, one hand over her heart and one hand over her mouth. She forced herself to take all of it in, barley blinking. She felt that she owed it to the General; talk about town hadn't favored a victorious outcome for him. She flinched at every clang, her breath caught at every near miss, and when it was finally over, she exhaled quickly. She thought she would feel numb, be frozen in place, but she didn't.

"Wait," she said quietly, mostly to herself, as squeezed through the crowd in an attempt to approach Revan. "Wait! Wait!"

But he was already gone.

The fight had gone as Catty thought it would, not that telling herself that made her feel any better, to be perfectly honest. A sinking feeling rolled around in her stomach, twisting it until she thought she would get physically sick. Her eyes were on Revan the entire time, feeling him through the Force like a bright light glaring into her eyes.

And finally the Senator was dead, and Catty felt hollow. The Fates had some sense of humor, trading in one ancient evil for a competent force of violence.

Numbly, she followed Shiori, grabbing onto the woman's elbow to pull her back. "See? He wasn't going to stick around for us."

And yet, knowing everything about him, knowing that the sight of him revolted her, why did she want so desperately for him to stay and help her, help them all?

Shiori quieted down as soon as she felt Catty's hand on her shoulder, shrinking under the puzzled looks she was getting from those around them. "I wasn't sure he would...but I had to try." She sighed, looking over at the medical personnel already swarming the General's body. "What happens now?"

Catty gently pulled on Shiori's arm, indicating that she wanted to move back. There was no telling who was in the crowd, if they were friendly or not, and she honestly didn't want to chance if maybe they were surrounded by the small group of anti-Revanites.

"I don't know. He's killed two senators from this place, Eshan. That can't be good. It's almost like... targeting." She mulled that over, tossing it around her head a little. "I don't understand anything that happens here."

She was trying to find a purpose in this. Did it serve one? What had the Republic gained? The Republic had lost one of it's more vocal Senators. Her head lowered, her moment of introspection over.

"This isn't right..." Tonks' voice trailed off.

Snape had been present for the duel, naturally. In light of the recent events, it only made the most optimal of sense for him to survey even more damage being done to the Republic.

What he did not expect to see was his phenomenally clumsy roommate also taking in the downfall of Yusanis.

"It's expected."

Tonks turned around and looked at her former potions professor. She crossed her arms over her chest. It wasn't an agitated gesture.

"That he died? That he challenged Revan at all?" Politics, beyond those what were necessary to keep her out of even more trouble at the Ministry, were a bit beyond her. She wasn't that subtle. "Why d'you think so?"

Snape merely responded with his usual thin-lipped sneer, turning back towards the dueling arena where solemn Echani soldiers were carefully lifting up Yusanis's fallen body.

"Both. It was a foolish undertaking on his part."
