Wherein a missing piece is identified

I just realized, more than before, what I miss most about my time in Austin. It's not so much the carefree life I lived when rent was paid for me (thanks, mom!) and my future depended on the first decision I made, not the decisions I'd made years ago. It's not being able to go out and see new people each and every week. It's not even Kerbey ( Read more... )

Heh. With khet, the wine bill was sometimes a bit high, but luckily Ad didn't drink anything stronger than an Arnold Palmer in college, so was a cheap date. =)

We have a friend we used to take out to dinner once a week to make sure she ate.

She got better about eating for a while, but I'm thinking we're going to have to do so again (she gets caught up in stuff and forgets to eat, and then ends up subsisting on junk food).

I miss you too! And I would like to go on record that I'm generally better at the feed myself thing than Khet (as long as you include Wendy's in "feeding"). I also had to look up what an Arnold Palmer is just now.

I totally hear you on the problems of impromptu platonic-dates. I know no single people in this city, if I haven't complained about that (100,000,000 times) already.

Austin misses you, too. All the little eateries, big chains and everything in between were packed to the rafters this weekend with the Bike Rally and Pride. Couple that with 100+ degree temperatures and it was madness!
