Characters: Ryuuki and anyone on Serenity Content: Ryuuki's first day on the job...and he's already having problems. Setting: On the deck of Serenity Time: Day Warnings: None.
No flight-type assignments meant not much for Fox to do. Not much for Fox to do meant boredom. He usually handled these situations with sleep, but he had his limits. Actually, it seemed as if the whole ship had slowed down in the days following the Hunt. Things had been so active there for a while.
Even on the deck, things were quieter than normal. Or maybe it just seemed that way, who knew. As he was moving across the deck, he noticed someone he'd never seen before. Fox assumed that he (it was he, right?) was part of the crew because he was cleaning up or....trying to.
Wandering around the Serenity, Larxene strolled in confident, lithe steps towards the deck, as she usually did in the day time when people were out. She was Quartermaster, after all. That sense of importance had slowly gotten to her, and she enjoyed it for what it was worth. Being that there was nothing to do on the ship except lounging in her room, she had taken a habit to explore the vessel, hoping to find something to do. Not that she would be in the greatest of moods if spoken to. The dullness was getting to her, and no doubt she would be extremely annoyed by the end of this week. She would have taken on that pig hunt spectacle, but really, she was in no mood to hunt or mess with pigs. Her nose wriggled in distaste. She desired her own form of entertainment. How long had it been since she had fun? Toyed with someone? Made them writhe? It was boring here. Utterly and completely boring. Things had to change somehow, and without shore leave, she had no choice but to stay put

A pair of boots stepping into the puddle left by the mop startled Ryuuki. He looked up, and into the smiling face of a woman.
If Ryuuki noticed the feline quality of Larxene's expression at all, it was chased away by the time she finished talking.
What a nice person!
"Actually," He began a little sheepishly, "I'm supposed to be cleaning the deck, but...um...I don't seem to be getting it right. Do you know how to work this thing?" He shook the mop a little, sounding hopeful.
"Oh, you just sway the mop back and forth sideways~," Larxene kindly explained to him, almost in a belittling babyish way as she crossed her arms, inwardly laughing. This guy was a total dunce. She expected something like that out of him, but this was to another level that made it all just that much more luckier for her. He would be easy to fool. Especially since he was a moron on judging people as well. Now, she remembered what Marluxia had told her. Rather, chastised her with. It had been said so much she practically, and unwillingly, ingrained it in her mind without wanting to. She was aware she couldn't go as far as she had done in the past, in case she did get thrown off the ship. She wasn't that reckless, she knew very well breaking toys was not allowed...yet.
Buuut no one ever said that she couldn't get to know a person, right? Build his trust, get him to reveal things, get him to do things out of his own stupidity. It wouldn't be her fault if...he had an accident of some type

Isaac, equally as piratical today, had caught sight of their new crewman. Now, most of his career on the Serenity was built on avoiding grunt work, but he at least understood what he should be doing in theory, and that long-haired young man was doing it! He seemed a bit confused, though... "He's either new to a mop and a bucket, or he's only pretending to do mop!"
There weren't any people to threaten in a friendly manner into deals with the captain today, and so Dimo was on his way down to the galley to get something to eat. Boredom, even momentary boredom, could make you hungry, and the Jäger had a pretty good appetite.
Some of that sky pork would be particularly good. His mouth watered at the thought, and as he proceeded along the way, Dimo neglected to notice the rather wet spot right in front of him. His left foot slid forward and out from under him, and the green Jäger hit the deck with a dull thud.
Ryuuki had stepped aside to examine the bucket. Maybe there was something there that would tell him what he was doing wrong.
He straightened again, no less enlightened, and when he did, he noticed the person about to step on the puddle he had left behind. But it was too late, before he could even get a warning out, the person had already slipped and fallen.
Pushing himself up with one hand, Dimo made a dismissive gesture with the other. "Fine, I iz fine," he grumbled as he dragged himself to his feet. "Vhat de hell iz hyu doing vith a big puddle of vater in de middle of de floor like dot? Dose trees de boards iz made of doezn't need any more vatering any more, keed." Now, where was his hat? It had flown off when he'd fallen, and the Jäger searched the nearby area for it. "Hyu zee my hat anyvhere around here?"
As was usually when one hears an accent or a language one didn't expect or was hearing for the first time, Ryuuki didn't understand what Dimo was saying at first.
"Pardon?...Oh! Your hat!" He got after silently mouthing the last sentence to himself, "Um..." Ryuuki looked around, finally spotting a green hat on the deck. He picked it up and quickly offered it to the...green person, "Is this it?"

"You look a little lost, kid," the fox grinned.

Ryuuki knew about demihumans, of course, but he had never seen one before.
His eyes widened, "You're a fox!?" He blurted in a voice that was definitely male.
(OOC: Ergh...didn't realize I had it one Rich-Text mode...sorry! >_<)

It wasn't exactly common, but Fox was more than used to this kind of reaction. He couldn't say it bothered him.
"Yeah. The name's, uh, Fox, actually. Nice to meet you?" he carefully extended a hand.

Ryuuki blinked, before remembering his manners.
"Oh!" He took the offered hand, "I'm Ryuuki. Nice to meet you too!"
Then, remembering what Fox had said earlier, Ryuuki tilted his head to one side, "Why did you think I was lost?"

"My name is Ryuuki, I'm new here." He tilted his head to one side, "What about you? What's your name?"

Those two...they were dressed so strangely. Eye-patches, parrot, black boots...
Wait.
Ryuuki's eyes widened.
"Pirates!?"

Oh, not good. Not good at all.
He rushed over, "Are you all right?"

Now that he actually had time to really notice.
"You're green."
