Characters: Ryuuki and anyone on Serenity Content: Ryuuki's first day on the job...and he's already having problems. Setting: On the deck of Serenity Time: Day Warnings: None.
Isaac, equally as piratical today, had caught sight of their new crewman. Now, most of his career on the Serenity was built on avoiding grunt work, but he at least understood what he should be doing in theory, and that long-haired young man was doing it! He seemed a bit confused, though... "He's either new to a mop and a bucket, or he's only pretending to do mop!"
they're kind of a unit. It's like Team Rocket XDwhatsthatmiriaJuly 19 2010, 01:11:36 UTC
"We're here to take this ship, of course!" Despite the absurdity of the statement, it was entirely true, but Isaac doubted the young man knew that.
However, it wasn't true at the moment. The boy's nerves seemed a bit familiar: the only way to deal with that was by allaying his fears! With Miria less than half a step behind him, he quickly closed the distance between himself and Ryuuki, greeting him, with a smile and a cheerful slap on the back. "We're not real pirates, of course! Not today, at least!"
Like Team Rocket, but more interestinganonymousryuukiJuly 19 2010, 06:53:19 UTC
He was surprised to find that he was just a little disappointed to hear they weren't real pirates(he'd never seen a real pirate before). But he supposed it was just as well that they weren't.
Ryuuki smiled in return, though he was still a little confused by the duo.
"Okay...? Um, I'm Ryuuki. Who...I mean, what are your names?" He opted to change the phrasing of his question. Somehow, he had a sneaking suspicion that "who are you two" would lead to strange answers.
omg sorry for late, I slumped the hell out of this weekwhatsthatmiriaJuly 30 2010, 18:20:10 UTC
"We are Isaac," with a thumb pointed towards himself and then to her at his side, "and Miria!" he answered with almost too bright a smile in his voice. "We're very sorry to have confused you, Ryuuki!" Well, the young man did look confused. "You haven't signed on a pirate ship after all, it's just a part of the mission!"
Listening to them talk was, Ryuuki found, like stepping into a river: all he can do is go with the currents. Keeping up was, of course, out of the question.
"...mission?" He asked looking between the duo.
Hopefully there wasn't a waterfall somewhere in the distance.
oh there's always a waterfall c:whatsthatmiriaJuly 31 2010, 20:20:51 UTC
"Of course! We're no longer children, but a grown man and woman with a purpose in life. There's always a mission for us to accomplish." He leaned in closer to Ryuuki and dropped his voice so none of the lookers-on could hear. "If people think we're pirates, they'll think we're so suspicious they'll be watching us for piratical activities. And then, while they're off guard..."
He listened closely when Issac leaned in, so he didn't miss anything. What Isaac said made sense...he supposed. But...
Before he could finish that though, Miria had leaned in as well and Ryuuki was listening intently when...
"BAM!"
She wasn't the only one to jump up, Ryuuki did as well, but more out of surprise. Pressing a hand to his chest, he exclaimed, "Don't scare me like that!"
"Exactly! A shock they didn't see coming!" He reached over Ryuuki's shoulder to slap triumphant palms with Miria, then continued the lesson. "Not yet familiar with the element of surprise? It's just what you need to learn, my friend, on a ship like this. You could end up in quite a lot of danger. Not from the crew," he added quickly, "but we do a lot of rough work and meet a lot of unpleasant fellows."

Those two...they were dressed so strangely. Eye-patches, parrot, black boots...
Wait.
Ryuuki's eyes widened.
"Pirates!?"

Ryuuki wasn't sure about "really dangerous" but he certainly bought the pirate part (they would know best, after all).
"But...what are pirates doing on this ship?"

He looked from Miria to Issac and then back again. Ryuuki...really wasn't sure what to think.
"Um...you said something about a mission?"
