After the lunchboxes come! 8D mayovice August 18 2009, 06:08:21 UTC
As annoying as the first mate was, even Hijikata had to admit that the Victoria II seriously could use some help from him right about now. With the (currently former) first mate's detention, it hadn't taken too long before the whole ship had just exploded with nothing but trouble. Doors ripped apart from their hinges, Chi getting lost (and was still not found yet), mysterious creatures all around the ship and going through walls and then there were those lunchboxes...

The boatswain sighed as he trudged through the corridors, one (non-Angel-fied) lunchbox in hand which he was forced to make for himself due to the cook strikes. Unlike most of the crew, Hijikata had the sense not to touch the lunches when they had arrived - just the mere mention of the place 'Lunchland' was more than enough to set alarms ringing in his head. He only knew one person who would do something like this and was most likely throwing the ship into an even bigger mess then it already was ( ... )

First the doors got ripped off, then there was this ungodly howling, and if he didn't know better, Edgeworth would swear he saw a skeleton somewhere. He paced frantically across his quarters, and wondered just how things could have gotten so terrible. This didn't make any sense!

He stopped as soon as he heard the knocks. It took him a moment to register the voice, and he rolled his eyes.

"Where else would I be?" There was a pause, and he said, "Come in."

...well, he knew Edgeworth was confined to his quarters in the aftermath of the whole fiasco in the Badlands, but it always paid to double-check and make sure of facts. Not to mention he really couldn't just barge in without announcing his presence anyway - or at least not for the moment. Even he knew the (currently former) first mate already had enough on his hands as it is; the current chaos of the ship did not help matters further.

At any rate, the boatswain allowed himself into the other's room once the permission was given, making sure that the door was closed securely once he was in. He really didn't want to see any more birds flying around or skeletal rats on two legs. Had he been a lesser man, he might have already freaked.

Turning around to glance at the silver-haired man, Hijikata gave the other a quick once over before remarking dryly. "At least he isn't starving you to death."

Edgeworth rolled his eyes, and said, "Please. If he wanted me dead, he'd do far worse."

The look on his face changed, though, as soon as he saw the lunchbox in Hijikata's hands. He was surprised at first, but in a moment, he merely leaned back and raised a single eyebrow. "No bread and water? I'm almost touched."

Sarcasm aside, the delivery made him concerned. If Hijikata had to deliver his food like this, then that meant that the kitchen troubles were far from over.

Yurika knocked with her free hand on the door to her one time friend's room and stepped back, examining her freshly painted nails. She knew he was in but she also knew he might not answer. She didn't expect he was in the mood for visitors at present, and she kept her mouth shut because she was fairly sure he wouldn't be in the mood to see her personally. In her other hand she carried a couple of detective novels and a bottle of whiskey. She expected such offerings might make him pleased to see even her.

A visitor? Who would be nosy enough to visit him? Strange... well, he can't exactly shoo them away, now can he? He sat upright, cleared his throat, and scraped together what remained of his dignity.

"Enter."

This is early on before the doors I guess. Should have said that at first layersoflazy August 19 2009, 05:43:08 UTC
Yurika pushed the door open. "Miles?" she said, concern tinging her voice for a moment until she saw him seated at his desk arranging things. She smirked, then laughed "Oh. I'm sorry. It looks like you have very important things to be doing. Shall I not bother you? Are the pencils not evenly sharpened?"

As soon as Yurika opened the door, Edgeworth's eyes widened in shock. He stared for a moment, mouth parted, up until she decided to open her mouth. Surprise turned into irritation, and he snapped his mouth shut and glared at her.

"The pencils are fine," he said irritably. "What do you want?"

Roy Mustang definitely needed sleep. Of course, sleeping meant dreaming meant him probably waking up in cold sweat needing a cigarette even though he really ought to cut down or at least ration the things because he's been smoking way too much lately.

Hence, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and it was a miracle that he was functional at all. The alchemist stifled a yawn as he moved into the next corridor, completing his latest patrol round--

--Well, a familiar door. He paused at the entrance to Edgeworth's quarters, wondering, idly, if he ought to disturb the man. He had not seen him, given recent events, and he wondered whether he should pop in and check on him in the first place. Was it even proper of him to do so...?

Another pause (and some time to think of an excuse), and Roy stepped forward, knocking on the man's door.

"Commander Edgeworth? It's me."

That voice was somewhat familiar. Edgeworth furrowed his brow; was it Hijikata...? No, no, Hijikata was never so polite. That only left one other person...

"Come in, Mustang."

...So far, so good. Roy wasted no time, and moved to open the door and let himself in. The boatswain then lingered where he was, ans saluted.

"Sir."

"At ease, Major. Come in, there are some things I wish to discuss with you."

As long as he was here, he might as well take advantage of it.

Early in the plot, before Francis' strike -- shortly after the conversation with Kristoph isntthatwright August 18 2009, 14:38:43 UTC
Phoenix was going to get to the bottom of this. Not for an article or anything like that - the thought had crossed his mind, but he'd decided against it. No, this was because he wanted to know what the heck was going on here.

He'd heard Kristoph's side of the story. Now, it was time to get Edgeworth's. He'd heard that the ex-first mate had been confined to his quarters, so that was where Phoenix went. Taking a deep breath outside, he knocked on the door, deciding not to announce himself. If he said who he was, there was a definite possibility Edgeworth would tell him to get lost, after all. It would take more than a year on the same ship to put him on anything less than bad terms with Edgeworth.

Oh joy of joys, it was a visitor. Well, it wasn't as if he could just order the lout to leave him alone, now could he? Edgeworth sighed, and said, "Come in."

Phoenix pulled the door open. Whether or not Edgeworth wanted to see him didn't matter. Phoenix was determined to get answers. "Hello, Edgeworth," he began, doing his best to keep his voice neutral and serious. "I'd like to talk to you about Kristoph Gavin." He didn't want to sound like he was making an accusation -- he wasn't. He was just trying to learn more.

Edgeworth blinked, his mouth slightly parted, before he clenched his jaw and glared at Wright. Just who the hell did he think he was, coming here without invitation?

"Of course you would," he said, with a sneer on his face. "Are you short on stories all ready?"

Before he abandoned ship, he's still helping fix doors. 8D Including yours! neme_morifacias August 18 2009, 20:52:43 UTC
Now that he had practically been drafted to fix doors, Sephiroth gotten to know quite a bit of the ships layout in a very short amount of time. Not only that, but he was wondering just what got into the person's head to literally rip the doors off. Sephiroth had a good set a screws, enough for the ship he suspected, but that didn't say much about the poor hinges.

Luckily, his mako-strength came in handy for this and he was able to bend the hinges back to their places. However, it just ate more time.

Sephiroth sighed as he came upon the latest ripped door, this one would be the last one of the day, he decided. He blinked when he saw an occupant inside. "Excuse me, sir," He called in. "I hope I'm not intruding but I'll be the one fixing your door. I'll try to be quick."

Usually, the people were not in their rooms. This could prove interesting, as he had not met this man before.

How wonderful! edge_of_honor August 21 2009, 19:31:52 UTC
Somebody had ripped off his door. Somebody had ripped off his door. Just what the hell was going on on his ship?!

Edgeworth glowered at the now open entryway and grit his teeth in frustration. Unfortunately, he couldn't just go off to investigate; regardless of the chaos, he was still confined to his quarters, and the boatswains had been keen to enforce it. Short of the ship being blown to smithereens, he was trapped.

...and knowing von Karma, even that was doubtful.

His thoughts were interrupted by the presence of a newcomer. That was Crescent, wasn't it? Edgeworth couldn't be sure; he didn't have a chance to meet the man before this whole mess started, but he matched the description he heard. Who else could it be.

"You aren't interrupting anything, Lieutenant Commander." Edgeworth gestured to where his door once was, and said, "Go right ahead."

Sephiroth nodded, raising a subtle silver eyebrow as he bent and hefted up the door easily. He hadn't realized that this man already knew him. He, unfortunately, had not had the liberty of knowing who was on this ship before hand and so, did not know who he was talking to. Though, he could make a guess since this was the only man who happened to be in the room while he worked.

Nonetheless, he leaned the door against the frame and proceeded to unscrew all the ruined screws from the hinges.

Edgeworth couldn't help but find it strange that Crescent was forced to do repairs, but he wasn't entirely surprised. Curious, he asked, "Exactly how bad is the damage?"
