The Gunsmoke was still just a guess, but they were heading in the right direction - and really, where else would they go to show off? Those outfits would be wasted in any other bar.
The Jäger finally managed to stifle her chuckling as she rounded the corner in search of Maxim. He had to see this, but she didn't want to spoil the shock for him. "Hyu" - she declared in a voice carrying absolute certainty, without even waiting for him to turn around - "iz goink to Gunsmoke vit me. Right now."

Jenka had walked ahead of him a bit so he'd slowed his walk to a stroll, not really in a hurry to get anywhere. Then he was suddenly met by Jenka again around a corner, stopping short in surprise. Her declaration caused him to raise his eyebrows.
"Gunsmoke? Eh... hokay." He hadn't really had any other plans so it was a perfectly plausible idea. Still, Jenka seemed to be rather excited about something. "Vhy iz ve goink dere? Vot's goink on?"

She walked fast, too absorbed in the anticipated spectacle to be interested in much conversation. Oh, this was going to be good.

It occurred then to Gorobei that he was not allowed to call Dimo by his male name. He didn't remember thinking up a female name for him, so he gave Dimo a cutesy nickname, hoping that would suffice. "Sweetie," he said, giggling some more and poking Dimo in the head. "You should smile more."

Dimo winced at the "sweetie", but still managed to retain some of his composure. "Hyu tink zo, dollink?" he asked coquettishly, flashing Gorobei a dazzling and pointy smile. "I doezn't know if it's really all dot ladylike, und I vouldn't vant to behave badly in a place vith zo many charming men about," he added, glancing at the bartender over his lace fan. If they were going to do this, they might as well do it over-the-top.

Turning away from Dimo and doing his best to catch the full attention of everyone at the bar, Gorobei waved his arm around and shouted, "Would any of you young men would like to join a couple of sweet beauties for a drink?"
He was met with silence, but he didn't give up. "Okay, then! We'll get a table and you meet us there!"

He turned as two ladies came up to take stools to his left. He looked up, ready to greet the nearest when he felt his jaw drop in shock.
"M-mr. Dimo?? Is that you?!"

Fluttering the lace fan and smiling demurely, Dimo batted his eyelashes and giggled a little. There was no way that he was convincing as a woman, he thought. "Oh no, sveethot! I iz Hildie, und dis iz my goot friend, Miss Rini! Ve had to come und catch a performance of dis charming play before de ship leaves port. Ve adore de fellow vhat plays de Schteel Samurai."

"Friend of yours, Hildie?" he trilled, turned to Harlequin and batting his eyelashes. "My, my, he's a--" what was he? "--is a handsome one. Why don't you tell him all about your cute name and the play and I'll order the drinks."

"Miss Hildie! My apologies. And . . . Miss Rini? I'm pleased to meet you. My name is Harlequin, at your service." He offered a bow, plucking his hat from his head and sweeping it to brush the top of the stool seat as he did so. He straightened with a grin at the compliment. "Living Marionette, miss." No, he'd not missed the hesitation - was rather used to it, actually, and pretty much knew what it meant. The last, however, did confuse him just a bit. "Your name, Mr. D-.....Miss Hildie?"
