this is going to just be Maxim and Jenka for a while causink_trouble August 1 2009, 06:26:37 UTC
Once Jenka caught that jewelry request of Dimo's, she knew something was up, and it wasn't hard to fit the details together. And what details they were! Gorobei deserved a good drink tomorrow, for all his hard work. Jenka had just managed to get a glimpse of the two of them as they were leaving the ship, and Holy Heterodyne, those shoes!

The Gunsmoke was still just a guess, but they were heading in the right direction - and really, where else would they go to show off? Those outfits would be wasted in any other bar.

The Jäger finally managed to stifle her chuckling as she rounded the corner in search of Maxim. He had to see this, but she didn't want to spoil the shock for him. "Hyu" - she declared in a voice carrying absolute certainty, without even waiting for him to turn around - "iz goink to Gunsmoke vit me. Right now."

This outing with Jenka was rather unusual. They didn't typically spend much time together unless there were other Jägers around. On the other hand maybe this would be a nice break from the usual.

Jenka had walked ahead of him a bit so he'd slowed his walk to a stroll, not really in a hurry to get anywhere. Then he was suddenly met by Jenka again around a corner, stopping short in surprise. Her declaration caused him to raise his eyebrows.

"Gunsmoke? Eh... hokay." He hadn't really had any other plans so it was a perfectly plausible idea. Still, Jenka seemed to be rather excited about something. "Vhy iz ve goink dere? Vot's goink on?"

Jenka couldn't help a chuckle, but otherwise kept her composure. He wasn't getting anything out of her. "Dere'z drinks, pretty gurls, und even a play - vot hyu complainink about?" The pretty girls would be worth some extra attention today, but Maxim would have to figure that out on his own.

She walked fast, too absorbed in the anticipated spectacle to be interested in much conversation. Oh, this was going to be good.

Easily keeping up the pace, Maxim followed Jenka curiously. She was quiet and intent on her purpose. There was definitely something going on. And yes, drinks, pretty girls, and live entertainment definitely sweetened the deal. He wasn't complaining one little bit.

"No complainink, Hy vos chust curious. Hyu seems to heff zumtink else on hyu mind." Maybe she would let something slip.

can we have Dimo and Gorobei? ^_^ causink_trouble August 3 2009, 00:27:19 UTC
"I heard dere'z gun be some extra fon tonight, iz all." she answered lightly with a last backward look before walking through the Gunsmoke's door.

It only took one glance to spot the bright splashes of color that were Dimo and Gorobei. Jenka made her way toward an empty table in their general vicinity, studiously avoiding actually looking at the two. Bursting out laughing right now would spoil the evening.

She was trying not to give the impression of heading for anything in particular, but there were enough free tables closer to the entrance to make it clear she wasn't just taking the nearest one. Hopefully Maxim wouldn't catch on just yet.

One more and then it's Dimo's turn. holdon2yourhat August 5 2009, 17:59:35 UTC
Maxim furrowed his brows at Jenka's statement. "Extra fon?" What in the world did she mean by that? It certainly piqued his interest, though. He immediately began scanning the area to try to pick up on any hints of a special show or some such.

Of course, now that he was paying attention to his surroundings he instantly caught a very odd but strangely intriguing sight. It was difficult not to stare as he followed Jenka to a table and sat down. There was one woman over there... no that couldn't be a woman. And she was green, he could tell under the makeup. The exact shade as Dimo. She was about his height, and moved like him, (he sniffed the air) and smelled like him. Yes, that was definitely Dimo.

At first Maxim wanted to laugh out loud and point, but there was another "woman" with him who also looked very familiar but Maxim couldn't quite put his finger on it.

He leaned over the table toward Jenka. "Hy tink Hy chust shpotted de 'extra fon'."

Dimo groaned inwardly as he heard two all-too-familiar Jager voices come into the bar. How in the hell had they found out that he and Gorobei were going to be here tonight? It didn't occur to him at that moment that Jenka might have hacked his journal conversation with Mamma. All he knew was that he wanted to try and be as inconspicuous as he could, which wasn't much, given what he was wearing.

Hunching over his tall glass of peach-flavored girly drink, he silently willed Maxim and Jenka not to see him.

Right. Like that was going to work.

Gorobei immediately noticed the difference in Dimo's behavior. He found this a little disheartening--hadn't they been having fun?--so he decided to voice his concern to Dimo. "Now what could be--" He got his answer when he looked up and saw Maxim and his guest in the bar.

"Ooho~!" Gorobei practically sang, clasping his hands together.

It was apparent that Dimo hadn't bothered to tell anyone, except perhaps Gkika, about their night out. News spread fast among Jagers, it seemed. Gorobei was quite grateful, and not about to let such an opportunity pass him by. "Maxim! We're over here!" he trilled, standing up and waving his arm around.

Jenka flashed Maxim a conspiratorial grin, hard pressed not to point and laugh at Dimo's despondent pose herself. Hoping to extend the fun, she quickly got her expression under control and waved back cheerfully at the samurai - or did that outfit make him something else now? - walking over to join the two crossdressers at their table. "Dimo, Gorobei, hello!" Why yes, she was using their real names. "Iz a nice surprize! Hyu'z both lookink..." - she paused, as if to think of the right word - "unuzually lovely today."

She only managed to keep up the sweet act for a few moments before a malicious grin settled over her face. Oh, this was going to be good.

The voice that suddenly called Maxim's name startled him quite a bit. It was a very familiar voice but it was coming from a not-so-familiar face. Maxim's brows furrowed as he stood up. Ah, that was Gorobei! He grinned broadly and followed Jenka over to their table.

This was just too good. And the best part was that Dimo seemed to be highly distraught over their arrival. Oh, there would be months and months of teasing and blackmail to come! Maxim laughed at Jenka's assessment.

"Yah, ezpecially dis vun over here." He nodded to Dimo as he sat down next to him. "Hey dere, preety lady," he said while barely managing to keep from laughing.

Much as he might want to, running away and/or killing everyone at the table was likely to be a bad idea. It was a challenge. A game. And he was good at games, right? Encouraged a little by this, Dimo sat up straighter and resignedly took another sip of his drink. All he had to do was act the part right now. The teasing would come later. And after all, he might as well have some fun with this.

"Ho, vhy thenk hyu!" he trilled through gritted teeth, "but I tink hyu gots us mixed up vith zome odder pipples. Dot's Rini, und I iz Hildie. Iz very nize to meet hyu. Ezpecially," Dimo whipped out his fan and started fluttering it furiously in front of his face to hide his embarrassment, "zomevun big und handsome like hyu, Sir." With the evil grin on Maxim's face, Dimo was pretty certain that he was about to get ganged up on here, so he might as well deal with it with as much grace as he could.

Dimo corrected the names before Gorobei had the chance to. The samurai smiled brightly at Dimo's continuance of their game, and flashed that smile on Jenka once he realized that Dimo would be enough to keep Maxim occupied. "It's so nice to have friends that could join us on our night out. I was worried that it might be dangerous for two women to be out alone drinking at night. I'm not very familiar to this place, you know."

Although he probably wouldn't refer to Jenka as a "friend" due to her recent "training" session with Komachi, he wasn't about to ruin the evening with a lecture. "So what might you be doing all the way out here, at our bar of all places?"

Dimo and Gorobei certainly were putting on persistent acts. And it was a good thing too. If they had given up too soon then where was the fun in that? This was much better entertainment than any show.

Giving a light chuckle, Maxim leaned in closer to Dimo and grinned flirtatiously. "Hildie, huh? Hy could heff svorn hyu name vos Maria." Maxim was determined to keep Dimo on his toes tonight.

"Hoho! Vell den, Meess... er, Rini, Hyu iz lucky ve heppened along." Maxim gave Gorobei a wink and settled back in his chair. "Aktually, Jenka here dragged me out to dis bar. Said dere vos zumtink fon goink on or sumtink." Perhaps he was trying to keep everyone on their toes.

Balling one hand into a tight fist and twisting the fabric of his skirt within said hand, the better to keep from socking Maxim, Dimo gave him a strained smile. "I tink hyu gots me confuzed vith zome odder gorl," he replied through clenched teeth as he struggled to keep Hildie's falsetto going. "My middle name iz Rozamund, und I doezn't know anyvun named Maria at all."

After keeping the annoyed glare going for a few seconds longer to make certain that Maxim got the message, Dimo relaxed back into his seat. His hand smoothed down his skirt, and switched to fanning him instead. "Iz a pretty name, though. Vhat lucky gorl does hyu know vhat gots dot name?"

Gorobei watched the exchange between the two Jagers, not exactly sure what was going on, and so didn't speak up until Dimo questioned the name Maria. Now, Gorobei, of course, didn't actually know any girls named Maria, but he knew an opening when he heard one. Maybe one that would ease whatever tension was now worked up between the other two.

"I knew a girl named Maria once! Ruined the name for me, if you know what I mean." Yes, Dimo had been glaring at Maxim. Gorobei understood that now and decided it was best to keep going. "I heard she kicked puppies and said rude things to the elderly. Very scandalous in my rich neighborhood."

Once Gorobei had finished talking Maxim burst into loud, raucous laughter. It was all just too gut-bustingly hilarious! It was obvious that Gorobei didn't know who Maria was and that just made everything that much funnier.

He slapped the table a few times, hunched over it and shaking. Finally he sat up and guffawed a few more times before giving Dimo a slap on the back. It wasn't a very gentlemanly thing to do to a lady but Maxim wasn't thinking about Dimo's current alter ego at the moment.

"Hoo, dot's goot shtuff! Ho boy," he said as he wiped tears of mirth from his eyes. "Goot shtory, Meester Gor-... Er, Meess Rini!"
