Fortunately, his response managed to clarify that very reason. He was new to the ship, presumably.
"Yes," she answered, with a slight nod. "I am Tear Grants, one of the quartermasters. And you are?"
The question wasn't simply in reference to his name, but to his position as well.
Judging from the way he addressed her and his words, he seemed courteous. Hopefully, he was a diligent crew member as well. After all, there were some aboard the Silvana who behaved politely, but in turn, failed to accomplish their duties well. For Tear, it didn't really matter whether or not someone had an attitude. All that mattered was fulfilling the obligations required.
If there was a behavioral problem, so long as it wasn't malicious, then she'd view it as only a negative factor she'd try to amend.

But people were different, and situations differed. And truly, Ramza wouldn't have minded even if they had met while he was already accustomed to things rather than still learning the ropes.
"I am Ramza Ruglia, Lady Grants." He said, still smiling. "I am a new Quartermaster on this vessel, though from this meeting, I presume I would not seem it."
It was important to be polite and courteous, though truly that was never a problem with Ramza. He had been polite to small children and referred to them as "Miss", "Mister", and other suchlike--his upbringing, yes, but also because he simply...preferred being polite.
"It is a pleasure to meet you."

...Feeling, though, was another matter altogether, given the way Frost exuded waves of cooling energy, but Raidou highly doubted anyone would notice up where they were.
It wasn't long before Raidou noticed that they were not alone, and he immediately greeted the stranger with a bow. A new crew member, perhaps?

Always a bit more forward than the others he knew.
"Hello, sir." Ramza said with a smile.

"Hello. You are new to the crew?"

It should have been strange to toss off his original given name, to take on his mother's name like it was nothing. But it was easy...almost *TOO* easy.
It should have alarmed him, but as he had used it over the years, it just felt easier and easier.

So in an act of desperation he had grabbed a cabin boy and ordered them to sneak into the infirmary and get him some crutches. Watson would kill him if he was caught, but he'd risk his leg for his mental well being.
It was after slowly and carefully reaching the deck that Shinjiro spotted the blond stranger. "Hey! You supposed to be here?" he called out, his haggard appearance making him look rather intimidating even with the walking aid.

...well, obviously not with the way he was moving...
He moved towards the man, offering him an arm to steady himself, if he needed it.
"Yes, I am new on this vessel. But nevermind that, are you all right?"

Nevertheless, the fact still remained that his duties had stopped him from his daily exercises, and he was eager to resume his routine now that things were slowing down. Watson was on the deck at that moment, walking around. His limp was barely perceptible now, though his thigh still ached. It was simply that he had gotten more used to it.
It was then that he saw Shinjiro and a stranger on the deck together. More importantly, Shinjiro. Watson frowned a mighty frown and made his way to the pair, setting aside introductions with the blond stranger for the moment in favor of giving Shinjiro his attention. All of it.
"Shinjiro, will you kindly explain what you're doing here when I specifically asked you to remain in bed for the next days?"

"Oh hell..." he muttered. it was too late to run... he'd just have to take the brow beating he was about to get. He knew the doctor meant well, and was just making sure he didn't hurt himself more... but it didn't mean he LIKED it.
And Watson could have a hardcore glare when he wanted too. Geeze. "I had to get out Doc. That room is killing me."

"Hello," he greeted. "You must be the new Quartermaster. Mr. Ruglia, is it?"

But the first thing that he was thinking when he first saw the man was...well...wondering if he was a man or a woman? He recognized the voice from somewhere, probably on the journals where he had made his first entry (though truthfully, he wasn't quite skilled with it yet and still made blunders when he did something as simple as try to read entries), though he couldn't remember where.
Where had he heard that?
But still he turned to the...erm. Man/woman/person, and smiled, giving them a very respectful nod.
"Yes, that is me. And you are...?"

Enough was enough. It was time to get some air. She told herself she wouldn't be gone for long - it would only be a short break - and stepped out onto the deck. However, it didn't take long for her to spot a new and unfamiliar face.
Was he a new crewmember, or was he merely someone she didn't know well? Either way, it couldn't hurt to talk to him, could it?
Hikari stepped up to him, and said, "Hello?"

Ramza smiled, turning to as if to give the young woman his full, undivided attention.
"Oh, hello, Miss." A small laugh, and a scratch of the head. Looking like this, he must have seemed much younger than he was--rather than his nineteen years. His clothes and his face didn't help much either, though he was certain.
"It's a wonderful day, is it not?"

Not that she had gotten much of a chance to enjoy it. Oh well, at least she had a few minutes here.
"So," she asked, with a smile on her face, "Did you just get here?"

At least he didn't slip into "Milady" like he had with Lady Grants. He had been trying to curb it, but it was difficult...
"And you, miss?"
