Characters: Ramza Beoulve/Ruglia, and whoever wishes to join him.
Content: Ramza, as a new Quartermaster aboard the Silvana, wishes to look through the ship. In his search, he finds the deck.
Setting: The Deck of the Silvana
Time: After the races.
Warning: It's Ramza, so probably not much. Angst, maybe.
(
The deck was his favorite place... )
...Feeling, though, was another matter altogether, given the way Frost exuded waves of cooling energy, but Raidou highly doubted anyone would notice up where they were.
It wasn't long before Raidou noticed that they were not alone, and he immediately greeted the stranger with a bow. A new crew member, perhaps?

Always a bit more forward than the others he knew.
"Hello, sir." Ramza said with a smile.

"Hello. You are new to the crew?"

It should have been strange to toss off his original given name, to take on his mother's name like it was nothing. But it was easy...almost *TOO* easy.
It should have alarmed him, but as he had used it over the years, it just felt easier and easier.

Raidou dipped his head again.
"I am Raidou Kuzunoha, one of the strategists on board."
Nothing seemed to be amiss with this new officer just yet, and Jack Frost, who was verily bouncing on his heels between Raidou's legs, did not seem to have a problem with the other either.

"The pleasure is all mine, Lord Kuzunoha."
His dialect was still strong, even after all these years. Sometimes he'd kick the habit, and say "Mister" rather than "Lord", or "Miss" rather than "Lady", but it was still rather difficult for him, especially when he found himself spending much time with Erealians, even when he was outside his home Island.

Lord? That was rather surprising.
"Just 'Raidou' will be fine, sir."

He still needed to kick that habit of formalities, but as a higher ranking officer...generally they were bound by politeness. If he was in the military, he probably would have been in this sort of situation years ago...
"But please, call me Ramza."

Just a few months back, perhaps Raidou would have been unable to conceive of calling anyone by their first name. Thankfully, his work on the Silvana and exposure to so many people was easing him up.
"How do you find the ship so far?"

Obviously? Ramza had no idea how these ships worked. He'd stayed on them and generally understood layouts, positions, and things of that nature, since he'd had to avoid quartermasters during his times as a stowaway (funny how Ramza became that which he often dreaded during his travels)...
"Though it is quite beautiful, as well."
Beauty was in the eye of the beholder of course, and Ramza quite liked the decor...even the rather cute and froofy designs were nice, but overall the sleek appearance of the Silvana could only set him in awe.

"I am rather fond of it as well."
Perhaps, though, Raidou's fondness came more from an appreciation of what the Silvana was capable of, and less with what it actually looked like.

It is so different from the people at home. Stuck in roles, chained to posts...unable to move.
Ramza had escaped his own fate, but at the cost of something special.
He fingered the pendant around his neck, though hidden under his shirt.

"I suppose you may be right."
Raidou, though, had never really thought about whether he 'liked' what he was doing or not - he simply did it. Simply performed. Fulfillment came with the fulfillment of one's mission, with the closure of another case.

Those sort of came right along with it.
"Mmm. I suppose though it is rather strange for one to say."
He was sure that not many went on waxing about the poetry of airships. Especially not one worked on them. Things tended to lose their sparkle when they worked alongside them firsthand.
Like battle.
And war.
And death.

Ramza blinked.
"Have you not been on the ship long, then, Raidou?"
