Ffamran was leaning up against the side of the ship, irritated by the Captain's orders that no shore leave would be allowed this port. He was finally starting to feel clean again a few days after the disastrous bread monster incident. He heard the call from the plank and went over to see who was waiting to come aboard.

The Lieutenant was -- scruffy, there was just no other word for it.

"The Captain is out, sir, although you might find the first mate on board somewhere." He leaned up against the railing smirking. "I think it's going to be alright for you to come aboard. Getting back off would be the challenge."

He was almost tempted to go back down and just wait for someone to happen by and see him....but that route was closed as a rather sharp looking gentleman noticed that he was there. Frowning slightly, he gave a nod before taking that last step onto the deck.

It felt nice to have his feet back on a ship again.

"I see. Well, I have my transfer papers here, and they need a signature..." He trailed off, looking slightly perplexed before he all at once seemed to remember exactly who he was and who he -could be- talking to. Snapping to attention, he gave a rather sharp salute. "Second Lt. Richard Gumshoe, reporting for the position of Helmsman, Sir!" All by the book...except for the wriggling in his coat.

Ffamran arched an eyebrow at the Sub-Lieutenant's wriggling coat. He also looked rather old to have not been promoted at all.

"Sub-Lieutenant Ffamran Mid Bunansa," he introduced himself in one long breath. He had, after all, practiced making the name and title as enticing as possible. So far it had failed to win him any female - or male for that matter - attention.

"I certainly could sign your papers, but that would be an abuse of an authority I don't rightly have. My first bet would be Commander Edgeworth, but I don't know if he's in his office or not."

Ffamran couldn't help it, the coat was just distracting. "What is wrong with your coat, Mr. Gumshoe?"

The arched brow didn't much help his confidence. Only seconds on board and already he was getting the disapproving look. He seemed to deflate, but he collected himself rather quickly afterwards, lots of practice making him all but immune. He'd already hefted his bag back up, intent to simply ask directions to this 'Commander Edgeworth', but he was stopped cold by the comment about his coat.

"I beg your pardon? There's nothing wrong with my coat, Sir...it's old, but it's clean!" Defencive...but only slightly. He honestly didn't seem to think that the man would be talking about the moving pocket.

This bites!

They finally made it back to Bellicus after several long days in flight only to be ordered not to step FOOT on the port at all by the Captain himself! Whatever hopes that Kiros had of touring down the streets of Bellicus where dashed for a second time on his tour! The first time he was here at this beautiful city, he missed the National Day parade and as well as this fabalous play he heard about from a voyager who seen it! It seems that the mechanic's luck was not looking any better since he utterly refused to eat anything from the ship's kitchen for the time being as well! Ever since the disaster in the kitchen and his near death by the hands of that strange mayonnaise loving freak, life has not been very kind for poor Kiros. His hope of touring the city and picking up a secret stash of food for himself was just ruined...

"Eh?" He stopped for a moment when he caught sight of what seemed to be a rather scruffy fellow coming aboard the ship. "Well, you certainly a new face..." Kiros muttered more to himself than to the ( ... )

It was Cannon that alerted Gumshoe to the other man's presance, his one little tail wag thumping solidly against his leg mid-step. No bark, no excited dancing, the little pup didn't even leave the man's side. A more well behaved puppy would be hard to find, yes.

Keeping Ffamran in his view and turning almost sidewise to be able to continue walking without seeming rude, the man lifted a hand in greeting, that grin ever present. " 'Ello! Dick Gumshoe, helmsman, at your service....and currently being left behind." The grin turned sheepish for a moment before he gave one last cheery wave before falling back in step behind Ffamran. Well, so far the place seemed friendly enough..for the most part.

His guide stopped by a door, and Gumshoe found himself swallowing thickly as he lightly pressed his leg against Cannon's warm flank. Lets just hope that the friendly streak continues...

A sole eyebrow was raised when he heard the fellow introduce himself. Kiros blinked his eyes faintly for a moment at the sheer pun of this dear helmsman's name, going as far as to bite his tongue for moment to keep the jest at bay! "Ah..n-nice to meet you." The mechanic stuttered out faintly with a bit of a smirk, he could not believe some of the names he heard on this ship! And here he thought the sixteen year-old navigator had a very odd name...

"Finally a helmsman..." Kiros thought to himself as he went off to to start his daily rounds. He hoped silently that the Captain would give the crew a break and let them off this bird. However, considering the tense situation as of not...

One would bet that all the friendly smiles and introductions will soon fade once all the chaos begins again.

"Poor guy...he has no idea what he got himself in for." Kiros muttered to him.

[ooc; brief hi and goodbye for Kiros! He'll see Gumeshoe around the ship later]

Edgeworth sat at his desk, going over a stack of papers and dossiers. No leave had been granted, and no disaster had befallen the ship, which left him with a wealth of free time until the next catastrophe struck. This suited him just fine; it allowed him to focus on a somewhat unofficial investigation that had gained his interest.

Then came the knock. He'd have to find another time to indulge his curiosity; now his actual duties called. Edgeworth tucked away the papers and shut off his device, and set all previous thoughts on Danvers aside as he cleared his throat and sat up straight in his chair.

"Come in."

Ffamran tugged on his jacket, a nervous twitch he found he had developed since the --- 'dough incident'. He entered into Commander Edgeworth's office and saw the commander sitting in his chair where he'd obviously been working.

"Sir." Gumshoe followed him in. "My I present Sub-Lieutenant Richard Gumshoe, who I made the acquaintance of while on the top deck. He's just been transfered."

The voice behind that door made him straighten up, teeth reflexivly worrying his lower lip as he ran a hand over the worn, but clean, coat. That was the voice to worry about....or, atleast, one of them. As the door opened, he took a steady breath and stepped forward, Cannon on his heels as he snapped another smart salute to the man sitting behind the rather nice looking desk.

"Sir." He pulled out the slightly crumpled but neatly folded papers from the pocket that hadn't been wriggling, holding them in one hand until they were asked for. "Reporting for the Helmsman station, Sir."

Edgeworth looked up at them, and nodded. "Thank you, Bunansa. If you have no other business, you're dismissed." After he reflected on how nice it was to see the navigator when he wasn't coated in beer or dough, he focused his attention on the newcomer ( ... )
