Matthew had been considerably less injured than his twin. Thinking back on the battle field, he wasn't completely sure when he'd lost consciousness. The last the he remembered was hurling his journal at the cactuar after Alfred's revolver had run out of ammo. Ah, in hindsight that might not have been a very smart decision.

He awoke sometime before Alfred. Did he faint? He must have, but at least his help had come not soon after because he was still in one peice and Alfred was still breathing in the bed next to him.

He'd tried to get out of bed, but found his shoulder as well as his right leg were protesting anything like that for a good, long time.

The sound of Alfred stirring earned a curious glance from his brother. Oh thank god, he was awake. Matt sat up and went about to greet him when he saw the look on his face.

Oh no.

Alfred tried to get up again. His leg wasn't asleep. It was broken. And- and! His eye! That was--! And this was--! This place was the infirmary!! His voice didn't seem to want to work for him just yet, and neither did most of his body, now that he thought about it. That didn't stop him from trying to forcefully move through sheer, Heroic will power. In his current state, he he'd yet to notice his brother.

He was starting to panic. This wasn't good, his brother panicking was not good. Not with him trying to pull himself out of bed. He looked around. They were alone in the infirmary. Dammit, where had the doctors gone?

No matter, Matthew was already half out of bed by his own force of will. He didn't want Alfred freaking out and hurting himself even more, regardless of how much pain shot up his right leg as his feet touched the floor.

"Alfred. Alfred, lay down," he said, trying to get his balance.

Oh, Alfred was having none of that. He kept struggling to get out of bed. He was so close to the edge now! Just a little bit more! The sound of Matt's voice only helped to strengthen Al's resolve, even as his body screamed at him that maybe he should be listening to Matt for once.

"M- Matt," Alfred croaked. His throat felt pretty sore now too. "How could you let...?" them take me here? How could you?

Penelo slipped into the sickbay, smiling when she saw the twins curled up on the same bed. It was kinda cute.

Sadly, Alfred and Matt needed their wounds cleaned properly. She carefully headed over and shook them awake. "Matt, Alfred, wake up."

Matt groaned as he was prodded awake. Oops, he didn't intend to fall asleep. Not that he minded, since it would probably pass time here in the infirmary.

He looked up at Penelo and after a moment it registered that ...Penelo was a doctor and she was trying to wake up Alfred. This was only going to end badly. Matt shifted to his side and watched his brother, making sure he was ready when his brother inevitably panicked.

A soft hand. Golden hair. Kind eyes....Penny. Alfred jerked forward with a yelp. Well, two yelps. The first was from fright, the second from the pain of trying to get up and away from the medical-ly type person so suddenly.

Penelo was nice from a distance. Up close, Alfred didn't know what to do about her. Sure, she acted nice, but... could she really be trusted?!

Oh, great. A panicker, and Penelo was all out of magic power. She couldn't even try a immobilize spell. Time for plan B.

"Alfred, calm down. I need to check your wounds, and Matt's too," she explained. "I won't make it worse. I can't promise not to hurt you, but..."

He glanced first to the left, then to the right. Then again, just to make certain that no one would see. Dimo was better than the average Jager at sneaking into a room without attracting attention, and he knew about when he'd get a chance to talk to Alfred about the Plan without either of the medics listening in. The door to the infirmary was open, and he sneaked in as nonchalantly as one could sneak. It was paramount that Alfred know about the Plan.

Not wanting to startle the injured Hero, Dimo allowed his footfalls to make the very slightest amount of noise as he approached. He came around to Alfred's right, then crouched down and quietly began to speak.

"Zo, I overheard Mamma und Miss Penelo talking about de food hyu's getting vhile hyu's cooped up here." Dimo grimaced in sympathy. "Doezn't zound all dot appetizing. But I haz been talking vith Miss Anthy, und ve haz a Plan."

At the first sound of footsteps, Alfred perked up out of his bored slump. There really wasn't much to do around this place besides write and... well... put off writing to Arthur. He was getting pretty good at both of those things. But! Something new was coming to occupy his time! He could tell that it wasn't Penelo or Mama! Their footsteps wouldn't be that light! These sounded quiet. Like the kind someone makes when they're being sneaky. Al liked that.

A big smile crept across Alfred's face as Dimo began to speak. Dimo! He should have known. Al tried to keep his voice as quiet as possible, but it was a pretty hard task to accomplish when he was THIS excited. "Dimo! Yeah! The food here... It's! It's-! Nevermind! What kinda Plan?"

Dimo gave Alfred a brief, appraising look, as though trying to decide whether he should really let him in on the secret. "Iz a goot Plan, of courze!" he replied. Still, he shouldn't be suprised. Alfred had never been in on any of his plans before, let alone a Plan like this one. "Und keep it down! Ve doezn't vant dem to hear us, ja?"

"Zo, here it iz: I haz been vatching de schedule for vhen Mamma und Penelo iz each here. During de times vhen dey's not looking or izn't here, I can schneak in und get hyu zome goot food. Schtuff dot vill ektually help hyu get better faster." His yellow eyes glanced over in disdain at the empty soup bowl sitting on the bedside stand. "Hyu can't get vell off of vegetable broth. Zo, vhat does hyu vant instead?"

"Do you need to ask?!" Oh, that was too loud again, wasn't it? Alfred's voice grew lower and more secretive as he began to laugh a bit. He had to gulp down a breath of air before he could begin to talk again. He always got like this. Remember to breath. Just because you're excited doesn't mean that you don't need air! Even Heroes need air!

With his good arm, Al made a widespread motion. "A cheeseburger! A BIG one!" he tried to exclaim while whispering. How long had it been since he'd had one? A man could not live off of rabbit food. He kind of wanted to hug Dimo right now because he was the only one who Got It, but he couldn't managed to lean over just yet. "It should be a double. With the works."
