For some reason, Doumeki had a feeling he'd best be on his guard when he went down into the galley.

So, script-damnable, horrible script-rolled up and in a pocket, he went from his quarters down to the galley. He seemed to be acting relatively normal, but paused for a moment outside the kitchen once he got down there. Best to prepare himself before he went in, since no doubt the idiot cook would start doing something ridiculous as soon as he stepped in.

Taking only a second more, he turned the corner and opened the door, entering with his usual deadpan set across his face. He had to admit, he could never recall Watanuki ever drinking when he and Yuuko had alcohol out. This day would be full of firsts.

Watanuki recognized Doumeki's footsteps the instant he entered the galley, before he even looked up to see him in the doorway. His shoulders went stiff, and his fingers tightened around the neck of the bottle he was in the process of carrying to the table. Seeing Doumeki filled him with a vague sense of annoyance at the best of times, but here, now, with the knowledge that Doumeki would far too soon be reciting love sonnets to him in front of hundreds, it made him simultaneously want to kill something, crawl under the table in shame and horror, and blush like a maniac in what had to be abject humilation.

He opted for putting the bottle on the table with rather more fervor than necessary and giving Doumeki his iciest glare. "You," he snapped, "Are not allowed to be amused about this. In the SLIGHTEST."

It was sad Watanuki could recognize his steps that well. "I'm not," Doumeki began, his monotone heavily carrying annoyance and disgruntlement at the mere thought of being amused about this situation at all. It left a strange taste in his mouth and an ever weirder feeling in him all together. He didn't like it, and he didn't want to think about it, either. "And I don't plan to be."

Now it was all too clear that Kurt had to have been in league with Yuuko. Really, he'd been amused when he'd spoken with Kyouya about it, in jest, but now it was actually happening. He was still trying to figure out how, exactly, but it was starting to give him a headache ( ... )

"...well, GOOD." A lame answer, but Watanuki had really said all that could be said on the subject on the network. "That makes ONE person on this ship."

He went for two glasses and brought them back to the table along with a corkscrew, expertly opening the wine bottle and pouring it carefully. He pushed one at Doumeki and drew the other closer to him, though at the last second his nerve failed him and he decided to let Doumeki drink first.

Little as Watanuki liked this whole affair, he knew he wasn't going to be backing out of it. He'd offered to help, and if this was how the captain needed him, then he really didn't have a choice in the matter. Not that he hadn't tried to beg his way out of it, offering anything else but this - but he couldn't flat refuse. Much as it was KILLING HIM now.

"So why the scripts?" he asked, giving his own a dark look. "Did you want to-- practice or something?"
