Shino returned to Konoha from an ANBU mission for the first time in two arduous days, the conclusion of which set him somewhat at odds with the idea of staying at home to cook for himself.

Of course, that was only compounded by the fact that Shino could barely cook toast, without setting the kitchen on fire. One of the odd, unknown quirks of Aburame men.

So upon dumping his mask off and reclaiming his glasses, along with the topmost hooded layer of his ensemble (because while he can postpone changing until after his stomach is full, personal comfort dictate he put on something less ... revealing than the ANBU uniform), Shino made way to the Yakiniku Q and spotted Chouji awaiting his meal.

Chouji noticed Shino come into the restaurant, looking up from the food he was flipping on the tabletop grill. On the one hand, he was pretty hungry himself. On the other hand, food was always better when you were eating it with a friend, and recently Chouji had had way too many quiet dinners for four for one.

He mentally made a check of what money he had on him, in case seconds were in order, and waved Shino over with a smile.

"Come share with me! You look tired."

Shino's attention slid from the smell of food (it was rather intoxicating, even for someone who could not be considered choosy, in the least) to his fellow shinobi at the grill. Chouji notoriously ate a lot, but it was not detrimental (if anything, perhaps the opposite) to his fighting style, so Shino had a hard time considering it a vice.

In any case, the offer was invited, and didn't appear to be begrudged in any way. Shino was not big on social graces (illogical, and more often than not a waste of time), but he could generally figure when his presence was not welcome. This did not appear to be one of those times.

"I can pay," he murmured as means of ascent, striding over to where he had been beckoned. If the Chuunin payroll was by no means insignificant, then the Anbu one was needlessly steep for someone who lived still under his clan's roof and did not need the money to pay the bills.

There was nothing better in Tenten's mind than sitting down to a nice meal at Yakiniku Q...unfortunately training and a demanding sparring partner would only allow her short breaks in which to eat. But that was the beauty of having carry-out orders. She was lucky that she had sent in her order ahead of time as there seemed to be a huge rush of customers hoping to spend their afternoon dining there. It was just as well, Neji's strict schedule wouldn't allow time to be wasted waiting for the food to be prepared ( ... )

Shino obliged quickly, though he moved without any real haste. He noted with some small measure of awe that there was an astounding amount of food, considering Chouji had originally been here alone.

It didn't matter, though. The Akimichi appeared genuinely jovial about the company, despite the personal sacrifice of food. It was generous of him.

He watched as the large shinobi reached out to pluck his first bite from the grill, and calmly followed suit. Despite the awkwardness of the Anbu uniform, Shino was glad to have left it on. The collar of his black jacket rose too high to safely eat with it on, which forced him to unbutton before meals... and that never looked very dignified.

After sliding down the booth to make some room for Tenten, even if it was momentary, Chouji gave a soft sigh, chewing the first slice of beef contemplatively, waiting for Hinata to sit down. He wondered vaguely what Kiba was up to, he being the final member of that team-- not that the teams were so important anymore, with their all mostly being Chuunin. Still, bonds were bonds.

"It's pretty good today. You should help yourself, Hinata."

Thinking she wouldn't stay for long, Tenten considered to just remain standing but opted against it once she saw Chouji slide over to make room for her. (He had always been the kind-hearted and considerate type.) A quick hello to the both of them would do and maybe small talk to catch up on recent events, nothing major or philosophical, just a little quick chat. That wouldn't be too hard right? Then again, she had never fully felt comfortable around the younger shinobis, especially in a group. They had a bond that stretched back to their Academy days while her acquaintance had began...during that dreaded Chuunin Exam.

She quickly shook that thought away. Now was not the time to be reminded of that incident. "Hey, long time no see. How have you guys been?"

Shino slid a look in Ino's direction, nonplussed despite the suddenness of her arrival. It was rare to find a shinobi as... outgoing as Kiba, though the blonde bombshell fit the bill nicely. It had always been something of a curiosity, to the Aburame, trying to puzzle out how such loud people could succeed as ninja.

He'd probably never know.

The food was good, especially to an empty stomach. Kikai churned beneath his skin, moving at the back of his throat and squirming solid when he swallowed. There seemed to be a steady flow of people, and while Shino wasn't without the ability to function in public, he preferred personal space.

He preferred not starving more, though, so he reached smoothly for another bite from the grill.

Chouji took the paper graciously from Tenten when she handed him, giving the writing on it an appreciative glance. He never really did expect people to give him gifts, and gifts of food were the best kind of all. He shoved it between the metal of his shoulder guard and his clothing.

"Thank you, Tenten! Hope you have a great one, by the way."

He also held out a pair of chopsticks for Hinata, an obvious 'go ahead and dig in' message. Ino, however, got a challenging eyeball from under his brows, because he knew his limits with her.

"Ino. We weren't, but it's nice to see you show up, too." IT'S MY FOOD. JUST TRY IT, LADY.

Hinata murmured a thanks to Tenten, sitting down next to Chouji, watching as he received his present from her. "O-oh, Chouji, I have something for you too; its at home, though. I didnt expect to run into you."

She took the chopsticks, thanking him again, and quietly getting herself a piece.

It was, like he'd said, very good.

The bright smile on the young Akimichi's face was more than enough to make up the lecture she was most likely going to get from Neji. In her little world a smile was always worth it. That was what they were always fighting for, to insure that whoever they were helping would continue to smile through their lives.

"You're welcome, Chouji-kun. It was nice seeing you guys. Maybe we all can catch up later?"

With a small wave and an ever cheerful smile to everyone, Tenten left the restaurant ultimately in a better mood than when she had arrived (that's not to say she wasn't in a good mood to begin with). Maybe I can convince Neji stop training for the day. It wouldn't be the first time she had managed to persuade the clan prodigy into changing his plans. But the process would be far from easy. And so she hardened her resolve and set forth on her mission.

Kaori didn't know what to do. There was such a wide variaty of food infront of her. Her friend she met here had gone and left her alot of food on the table.
"U-uh-oh!" The waiter came up, "Your bill."

Kaori took the bill and she meeped in suprise. 34,000 yen!

Just because she was new here did she really look rich!? Kaori sighed sadly, she was going to have to wash dishes.

She looked at the large bowl of ramen set infront of her. All the food infront of her she felt as though she was going to puke! Kaori held her hand to her face. "I need help..." She sighed and pounded her head against the table. The hot coffee infton of her spilled into her lap. "EEK!!" She fell onto her butt. Her lap burned. She bit back the tears and stood up and walked to the restroom.

She cleaned off her pink and red kimono and washed her face. She stared into the mirror for a long time. She sighed and leaned against the wall.
