Updatey

I've been very slow and lethargic the past few weeks. A kind of mental slump. I have actually been trying to get hold of several people to visit and/or do stuff with, but they all said they'd get back to me, and then they never did. D:

Well, with a couple of exceptions: bracke has been in touch quite a lot, which is nice, and I've also seen pnr a couple of ( Read more... )

Fancy fika in two weeks time or so? I have to do some research at the university library.

Sorry to hear that the assembly ball got cancelled. It sounded like a fun event.

What about that do I dreamt about this morning? You had somehow acquired Neil Gaiman as a guest and we were all having a party with him... but first he was Seth Green. Weird.

Wow. Sounds like a good party! Including the Seth Green bit. I wish I had dreams like that. The only thing that could make it better would be Neil dressed as Mr. Darcy.

Are you lacking many people for the assembly?

Yes. We'll know for certain next week, when the payments come in (those that do), but I'm guessing that we'd need about another fifteen, twenty people. So you needn't feel bad for declining, because it wouldn't have come off even if you had been able to come. Maybe some other time! Anyway, I'm still thinking about the Tolkien Festival, but I don't know anybody else who's going, so I'm kind of procrastinating.

Thanks for clearing that up. I hope you don't have financial losses?

It is frustrating when you have great plans and things simply won't work out. I was hoping lots of people would join the 1859-thing, but in the end, it was only me. I felt a bit ashamed about it, when people asked, but I did the best I could and at least I got something out of it.

The Tolkien festival has an improved webpage (http://www.tolkienfestival.no/). We haven't quite decided between hotel or cottage. We can well afford a hotel, but if we find 2 people to share with, cottage is also an option.

I would love to meet you some time, we are going to Sweden next week, but I don't know if we will make it further than Gothenburg.

No, that's the reason for the early last-application date, so that we could cancel the booking for the venue (and the musicians) without financial loss.

If we had been maybe five people short or so, we would probably have born the financial loss, but now it's not possible.

I'd probably have to make do with floor space, since the fee and the journey would cost a bit. How much would it be for a share in the cottage? That would make it easier to get proper breakfasts and so on. :)

If you had asked me, I would have had time off, but then again you would probably not enjoy my company.

I don't think that would be true at all. :)
But I only asked people who could be reached easily in about an hour or less on the local train or bus, so we could meet up for a day or just a few hours. My energy reserves aren't all that great ATM. And you don't live exactly nextdoor!

No, rather 300 kms away... Bah!
But I do miss going over there on regular visits a I used to do. It's been too long!
