I just got a chance to return to this painting yesterday... Take another look!

I brushed off the tea leaves and began to paint the first layers of color.

Some people here and there have inquired about my techniques... Yes there is a method to my madness, at least in terms of art making.

A technique I've used pretty often with watercolor/gouache paintings is teastaining. I like the color that tea gives, as well as the appearance of texture. I took some photos today as I worked:
