So, the move to NYC is official - I have a one way ticket for the 17th. I am moving to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I'm living with my college roommate, the wonderful Cecilia. Looking for a job = unfun
So, I've spent the last few days writing cover letters. I am pretty convinced that I don't really know how to write cover letters at all. I believe myself to be highly-employable, but a failure at the cover letter. I'm just going to keep plugging and hope something turns up. Off to the Northeast
Well, tomorrow I am leaving for New York and then onto Maine. This shall be another time of traveling for me, almost like that year where I lived in 5 different locales (Los Angeles, Scotland, Florida, Oberlin, NYC, not in that order). So, my sister got married yesterday. Still can't really believe it. She was back at work today, first day of summer school - they couldn't get the location they wanted any other day. Today I drove to pick Luke (my not-so-little brother) up from college, which is kinda a trip when I think about it. Isn't he like....12? Now, really. It was nice driving out there - me+ocean+music+car+solitude=peaceful and good. There wasn't too much traffic, either, and barring the fact that my ride was a minivan, I had a lot of fun driving. Good Day
Today I went to a pancake concert, which means that at this concert they served pancakes - the concert was $5, and this included pancakes and orange juice! It started at 11 AM, which is...weird for a concert. It was at the Smell downtown, the crowd overwhelmingly young and hipster. Younger than usual, even. Lost!!!
The USPS lost one of my boxes that I shipped from Oberlin to L.A. SO UNCOOL. I don't know which box it was, but it was media mail, meaning that it either had CDs, books, DVDs, or games. They didn't lose the box, just the stuff inside - box arrived empty :-( :-( :-( None of my media mail boxes have gotten here yet, so I don't know which one it ( Read more... ) -
