So, my sister got married yesterday. Still can't really believe it. She was back at work today, first day of summer school - they couldn't get the location they wanted any other day. I was the Maid of Honor, which turned out not to mean anything other than being announced as such at the reception. I was told I was supposed to give a speech, but apparently my singing was supposed to substitute. oh god - the singing. So I got up and did a special request from the groom on banjo - into a MIC TAPED TO THE STAND. I also had to lean over pretty far, since it wasn't a boom mic. I guess I should've been more specific about the equipment I needed. Anyway, that song went pretty well and an encore was demanded. I hadn't prepared anything, but my parents both requested "Hallelujah". For those who don't know, this is NOT A WEDDING SONG. AT ALL. I tried to tell them that I don't play it on banjo EVER, but they insisted. I think I will just have to accept that embarrassment caused by my parents shall never cease. I guess it wasn't too bad, though, because a lot of people told me to stick with the singing. Also, my dinner was taken away while I was performing. Bummer. Then, my cousins and I got down on the dance floor to some good tunes and a good time was had by all.
