Closet exhibitionists that may never admit it out loud that we are and because I think we're all self centered to a certain extent <3 But you're spot on~
I have a "private" blog, which I used to blog about school life, travels, or just thoughts in general, catering mainly for my little cliche of close friends. Now with my "public" LJ, I use it to show my fanart and other fan-related things, which I've always felt uncomfortable with showing my close friends (bc they think it's not "in-character" for me to like these things, and every time I give a small indication they become very surprised and weirded out). So my LJ is for letting loose, I guess. The key thing I'd like to do here is "communicate". Hey, this is how I see character X, tell me what you think! etc.
I know about that blog but it's dormant D: Is it because your friends don't read it? As for your LJ, I wish you didn't draw lines so cleanly (as in between fandom and RL) I mesh mine together but that's me because I'm lazy D: Though I do get very surprised looks from people who don't think I'm into things like these.
I need someplace to say all the things I can't put into words when actually talking to people. Surprising as it may sound, LJ is the only place where I REALLY whine and moan and bitch about things :p I suppose it's because people have to option to just skip it Well, that and the fanspazzing, though there's not much spazzing anymore, since pretty much the entire fandom moved on and no one cares anymore XD It's just a place to let out all the things that'd be frowned upon in Real Life, I guess. or something like that
And I don't even want to know wtf I have become :| *liked the no-internet Mel much better* :|
So is it escapism? A place for us to run to when you can't keysmash or curse in RL? The idea of people skipping our rants, would you continue writing it if you knew nobody was reading it?
I like POT, I still read POT fics, it's just sometimes some things get a little harder to fangirl than the rest. I have so many fandoms that nobody knows about but I love them all the same.
I like what I am, I just wish there was more to it?
Well, at least it's that way for me. I can't tell my mom when I feel bad, and when I'm with my friends I always try to put on a smile so they'd know I'm fine, but I don't have to do that oneline. For me, it's just easier to open up here. Escaping the real world, yeah, I guess

There's nothing wrong with escapism. We all need a time out sometimes and the anonymity online is delicious. You can be anyone you wanna be and yet when we have the choice, we want to be ourselves, the irony. So being online liberates you, doesn't it restrain you as well? I mean, afterall they are people who faces and lives underneath it all.
I think it's difficult to equate a lack of response as a lack of readership. There are just too many variables to that conclusion. People do like to tend to gravitate towards happiness don't you think?
You see Mel, we don't know everything that's why we ask and only by asking you get answers but even then answers have multiple meanings and reasons for them. POT is special to me, always will be, your assumptions and the actuality of things may not coincide. Like did I know I was in the DBSK fandom since 2003? It's the same for me when I say I don't know enough about you, which is a pity.
If you don't like what you've become, why not change it? Or is this dependence? Like you won't know what to do

Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon.thelovemafiaApril 24 2009, 17:42:10 UTC
I miss the way I wrote about Reborn when nobody was watching. That's the way this journal used to be, just for me.
I think it's inevitable that when more people turn up for the show, the show naturally changes when the writer/author realises that they're playing to a crowd.
And when that happens: I think that we start changing the way we talk, the way we express our views - even the very views we express, when we know people are watching.

I suddenly have a vision of you doing what your icon!59 is doing to 27 as u say ittheprerogativeApril 25 2009, 05:17:54 UTC
I miss how raw I used to be? Unpolished and all that edge without a care in the world but now I unconsciously compromise?
Playing for a crowd is fine if I love it and I do except I do wish more people loved what I love so posting about things that I rarely post about still get the same amount of love.
Tenth, you want this too? G-go-gokudera kun o/////o -grabs in a hug-
I think it's inevitable. It's like the life of a public figure, as long as you are within the public sphere, you have no choice but to succumb to the looks and stares.
However I do believe your core self doesn't change. Your identity evolves as you collect new 'self's but the real you is still there. All that you learn, love and add-on is just another layer of self. Though I do have to agree people's perceptions can do things to you which kinda sucks sometimes.
