I BLOG FOR ME. I ELJAY FOR YOU. I FACEBOOK BECAUSE I LIKE MY FACE. I DON'T TWITTER, WTF AM I A BIRD. AND I PLURK BECAUSE I DON'T SQUISH. I FIC LIKE A BITCH COS I CAN'T WRITE. O HALLO THAR, INTERNETZ
I also f-lock rants, and things that are able to point out who I am, like schools, location names. I don't even mention people names unless they're already on LJ. If something causes an emotion, I try to write it, if I can capture it. That's why I get very irritated when people say that only emos and angsty teenagers write blogs. I just want to remember how I was feeling at that particular moment - is there something so wrong with that?
Why I blog. And I probably would keep blogging even if I didn't get any comments. Opinions are great, but what you put in your own blog are your thoughts/ideals/etc. But I guess it would be more fun to have people comment so that you can share the happy/sad/etc. moments.
Not really? Other than myself, I guess. I mean, there might be some parts of my post that are specific to people, but I'd like to think that I keep most of them in the general category. I know that not everyone on my f-list reads my posts and I guess honestly, it makes me happy if someone does and comments but it's not like they have to. It's their choice just as it is mine to post what I want/feel like sharing.
lol 10069 is kind of a... hate-tease-mind/word play-hate relationship? Something like that. But I do agree it is beautiful.
Because really, we're more than just facets of fandomtheprerogativeApril 25 2009, 05:20:50 UTC
But your voice as you write is derived from how people see you no?
Not everyone reads but there always people who surprise you and what do you do when they spring it on you? I mean it isn't always nice stuff we talk about. This filtering is very scary.
As much as it is your choice, isn't a blog public? So what about courtesy, consideration and all that polite jazz?
I AM SO HAPPY THAT I AM CURRENTLY ON A GOOD CONNECTION AND CAN OGGLE ALL OF THOSE PICTURES I PEACE.
As to why I blog... hum. Tbh, it was initially about staying connected. Violently resisted getting an online journal for a very long time, and then one thing happened followed by another and yeah. orz
It's still a very personal act, though. in as much as it is a communal one. I think I'll keep LJing even if nobody was reading.
IM HAPPY THAT YOU'RE ON GOOD CONNECTION TOO. HOW'S THE HOUSE?
Aren't there other ways to keep connected? Connected to whom? I had an LJ since 2006 but I never really used it until end of 2007 and for the real journals I have, they've never been finished, not anywhere near.
Primary mode of communication? What happened to the good old email or the phone? Unless of course we're talking about overseas communication then I guess that works.
But you write differently when you're writing for yourself than when it's for an audience.
以父之名 is one of my favourite Jay Chou songs ever and I adore the MTV to bits.
Why do I blog? Because I like writing. Because I'm narcissistic, I suppose (who isn't?). XD And because it's a lot quicker to type than write on paper. I used to like holding a pen and writing in a book, but my thought flow too quickly for that now. I like to keep diaries and I treat my blog as one, and I like to remember every single memory I have, no matter how mundane it is. It's actually amazing how much you can forget after a number of years. And I want to be able to look back and know what I was thinking/feeling then. Charting change, I suppose.
What have I become? Someone who self-censors quite a bit and rarely blogs on impulse anymore to stop herself from spamming the friends-pages of those on her f-list.
You should listen to Bach's Cello Suite and I wanna go to that library!theprerogativeApril 25 2009, 03:46:07 UTC
Zero comments fine, but what if you had no audience at all? Would you? And I so agree on the narcissistic part. We're all closet exhibitionists, a bloody cocktease.
Re: thought flow, it's scary isn't it? It's like attention span, where did it all go to? I suddenly think we think at the speed we type D: But as a record, blogs are srsly useful.
Are you happy with what you've become? And aren't constant updates better than no updates?

I think I probably would. I'm not going to say that readership doesn't influence me. (If it didn't, I'd have no need to self-censor.) But I really like keeping diaries, records of my own experiences.
No, I'm not. Blogs are mediums for self-expression. I hate that I have to hold back some of the things I long to say or express. It's an even greater problem on LJ where it's become such a social... thing. (Too bad I'm too hooked on LJ!)
Haha, but I DO update quite a bit... er, right? XD
How about you then? How did you use to blog in the past, and have you liked the way you changed? (:

Will you? Really? If you had no audience?

There are, but LJ's the primary mode of communication of the circle I'm close to, so~
And I don't think you're ever without an audience, even if that audience is comprised of no one but yourself. :3

And no, zero comments on my entries doesn't stop me from blogging!
