I saw that someone noticed a reference to "Cast Away" in last week's episode: "The Legend of Merle McQuoddy".

However, am I the only one that noticed a more obvious reference?

WHOA! It took until THIS MORNING for me to figure out who Jim Dale is!! Sure, I could have looked it up, but I thought that might be cheating. I can't believe I never made the connection before!

But...... nod to Batman? I must have been so caught up in the whole Pete's Dragon thing (one of my all-time favorite Disney movies, btw) that I missed a Batman reference. Help a girl out?

Nora's body being up against the light in the light house casted a shadow. Remember when Ned and Chuck were on the rooftop and saw the beam of light with the body in the middle? Hence nod to Batman.

I saw those and appreciated each, but totally didn't put it together that it could well be a deliberate trope. Awesome. How does a show rock *this* much?

Also, Nora was the woman in both stories who lost her man to the sea only to have him come back to her.

Oh! i remembed the song, but I haven't seen that movie in such a long time, it didn't click until now! I so remember watching when I was a kid though!

I definitely caught Candle on the Water and the lighthouse, but I didn't even think about Passamaquoddy and Elliott. That's awesome.
