I saw that someone noticed a reference to "Cast Away" in last week's episode: "The Legend of Merle McQuoddy".

However, am I the only one that noticed a more obvious reference?

Freaking amazing.

I used to love Pete's Dragon growing up, but hadn't seen it in a long time, so the references flew over my head. Being reminded of this makes me appreciate the episode even more :)

Merle IS a character in Pete's Dragon, though not Nora's love lost at see (that's Paul).
