 Sorry, I forgot to get on here and update.  I did hear back from the genetic counselor last week and the collagen tests came back positive for OI Type II.  That's actually good news in the whole scheme of things because OI Type II is a random genetic mutation, meaning we did not pass it down to Faith.  That puts our recurrence risk to only 2-5%.  ( Read more... )

 So, I went to my six week post-partum check-up on Monday (yes, I know I'm a little late in posting this).  Nothing really new to report, which is why I haven't rushed to post anything.  Everything looks fine on my end- Haven't gained back any weight so far, which is fantastic.  I love to lose weight when I'm not really trying- and if you know me, ( Read more... )

The OB wanted to see me back in two weeks instead of the usual 6, so Frank and I trekked up there on Monday.   I guess the doctor just wan't to make sure I hadn't jumped off a bridge.  Sorry, a little grief humor there.

I was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 around 8:00 p.m. for cervical ripening prior to beginning the induction.  My first dose of Cytotec (a cervical ripening pill) was placed around 10:00 after the doctor checked me for being dilated.  At that point, I was only dilated to about 1 cm and my cervix ( Read more... )

Just wanted to let you all know that we're hanging in there.  Please pray for us as we struggle through the hardest and most painful event of our lives.  I will try to get Faith's birth story written up soon and will post it here.  So stay tuned.

 Today is the day!  Sorry, have to make this quick- I have a million things to do before this evening.  I have to be at the U of MD tonight around 7:30 to start my induction.  Baby has moved to a head-down position, which is great.  I shouldn't have to stay long at the hospital unless any complications arise- so hopefully I will be home soon ( Read more... )
