[The SFC turns on, and at first, nothing is seen except for the dark interior of Yomiel's apartment - it's rather empty, except for the view of a shattered coffee table lying on the floor like a wounded animal. Returning back to the way he once was has hit him harder than he thought it would. To have something you've missed for so long taken away ( Read more... )

let's have a group discussion, in his opinion fate sucks, can't actually die, chance versus fate, darn that meteorite, brb getting philosophical, playing russian roulette with himself

That was a heinous amount of introduction for such a short and simple question. Sounds like you're the type that likes to listen to themselves talk.

Because the facts are getting interpreted by people who turn them into their own truths. And dude, we just established that truths are not true at all.

Man, you're giving me quite the amusing argument here. But I have to say, you do have good points.

You wouldn't happen to be a scientist, would you?

What gave it away? Was it my boyish charm and good looks?

Nope. Don't flatter yourself.

Your way of talking reminded me of one, that's all.

Ouch, right to the heart.

It has been an interest of mine for a while now.

What can I say, bluntness is my speciality.

Were you one before you came here?

Missing the finesse for subtlety?

I was.

Nah, I can be subtle. Don't see the point of it, though.

What area did you study?

I suppose when you are too focused on bluntness, it can be hard to see the pay off of subtlety.

I was a bit of a jack of all trades. Light, Darkness, Nature of the Worlds and Hearts, Quantum Physics. You know, the usual.

I guess so.

Worlds? In plural? So, you already knew about the existence of them? Those are pretty odd subjects to be putting on your resume, to say the least...

I've visited more worlds than this one. I've lost track of the numbers I'm afraid. And the subjects aren't that odd when you understand the underlying connection between them.

That's pretty amazing, actually.

Connection? Honestly, I don't see the connection between hearts and light and darkness.

There are as many worlds out there as there are stars.

The easiest connection would be the light and darkness inside people's hearts.

That makes sense. How do you travel to them, though? By spaceship?

[An uncomfortable pause. Yomiel has often referred to the darkness inside his own heart, but is that really something one can research...?]

How do you even research that? It's not like light and darkness are physical things...

Gummiships, yeah. Well, that is what some prefer, at least. Seems there are as many ways to travel as there are people.

[Oh, Yomiel. Mister 100% darkness can sense all that tasty dark in your heart there.]

People have research psychology for years, and you wouldn't say that is quite physical, right? Though darkness is not quite as vague a concept as you might think.
