[The SFC turns on, and at first, nothing is seen except for the dark interior of Yomiel's apartment - it's rather empty, except for the view of a shattered coffee table lying on the floor like a wounded animal. Returning back to the way he once was has hit him harder than he thought it would. To have something you've missed for so long taken away from you as quickly as it came was frustrating, to say the least.]

[Yomiel comes into view, though only his hands are visible- his eyes are well above the shot. But in his right hand is a handgun. With his fingers, he keeps opening and closing the cylinder and spinning it, one bullet nestled within it.]

Have you people heard of a game called Russian Roulette?

[His voice is even, betraying no emotion. In fact, it sounds rather dead, as if he can't bring himself to care about what he's saying.]

Basically, you take a gun like this, and put one bullet into it. Then, with one other person, you take the gun, spin the cylinder, and take a shot at the other person. If there is no bullet and the person lives, then the other person has to do the same. You keep doing this until someone gets shot. It's a pretty risky game, but people make a lot of money off of betting if one person will survive over the other.

[The cylinder spins once again and stops with a click.]

In many ways, life is like a game of Russian Roulette too. Imagine a man getting struck by lightening, or a meteorite. It's pure chance that something like that will happen. Or imagine bumping into a person on the street who later turns out to be the love of your life. Or, what if you find one million dollars in a bag in the alley? Or missing a plane ride and then later finding out that that same plane had crashed?

[He lowers his face into the shot, his mouth set into a frown. He places the gun near his chin.]

But some people think that chance is not responsible for anything. They think destiny is. That man who got hit by meteorite? He was destined to have that happen. Meeting the love of your life by accident? It was fate, of course. People like that don't believe in coincidences- things have to happen for a reason. You can't escape your fate...or can you?

[A long pause, and Yomiel presses the trigger. Nothing happens. He smirks slightly, as if amused- after all, it wasn't like he would be killed if that shot had had the bullet. Such is the life of an immortal.]

So, Vatheon...do you think that our lives are governed by chance? Or are our lives controlled by fate? And if so, can we get out of it, or are we just destined to follow the same path for years

let's have a group discussion, in his opinion fate sucks, can't actually die, chance versus fate, darn that meteorite, brb getting philosophical, playing russian roulette with himself
