Now THAT was some exciting television. Last week's episode left me a little lukewarm, but these week was definitely worthwhile.

Okay, so, let's see, what did we learn?  Much more was learned about DL (I knew he wasn't evil!), who apparently has some sort of Vision/Shadowcat power base.  We also learned more about Niki, who seems to be more of a ( Read more... )

I'd pretty much figured out DL's power last episode, and also didn't find out anything new about Niki. The only real surprise of the episode for me was that the Dad hired the actors to be Claire's parents. And yeah, I'd noticed the symbol popping up right from the first episode. It's been everywhere. Claire sketched it on the spine of one of her textbooks, it was hidden in the ASCII art scrolling at the bottom of the laptop screen when searching the Indian guy's Dad's computer, etc.

I thought his abilities were more invisibility-based, rather than phasing. I was pleasantly surprised when he stuck his hand through her. The new bit with Niki, I thought, was that she seems to need to have a mirror near her in order for her "dark side" to come out (I'm reading some old Hulk comics at the moment, so the "dark personality that's superhumanly strong" bit was a no-brainer).

Oddly enough, though, I figured that hiring actors to play Claire's parents is exactly the type of thing that her father would do, given how much of an "evil mastermind" he was.

Something I was thinking about during breakfast this morning: I know that Hiro thinks future-him couldn't vist present-him because of potential continuum ripping. BUT, we don't know that Hiro ends up becoming a "hero" for certain. What if future Hiro is actual evil, and is using his powers to manipulate a future that he desires (which may not be good for the rest of us)
