in which I find sweetness where some others find bitterness

Farscape, Stargate, fandom, and the SG1 200th episode -- I've got a couple of things I want to say before the thing airs. So, you know, spoilers. And I'm posting this here rather than on the boards in response to some things, because, well, I like what little sanity I've managed to regain in the year and a half since I retired from the whole ( Read more... )

people, regardless of how you, personally, feel about Stargate, do you honestly believe that Ben would do anything that would insult a project he put so much of himself into? And that would in turn insult the fans he loves? Man, that's just ... it wouldn't happen. And if you're not sure about Ben, do you really think Claudia would go for it, either?

Pardon my bluntness, but...

A-FUCKING-men!

Sometimes, something touted as a tribute, is, you know, just a tribute. Teasing is usually an affectionate thing. Not only is this episode not a slap in the face for Farscape fans, it's also not a ploy to get Farscape fans to watch the frakking show -- those of us who want to are already watching it.

Aw, man. I don't seem to have a Stark icon. :(

So...*hugs* I mean, I'm still a tiny bit bitter, four years later (four years?!?), but yeah, Ben and Claud would never dis Farscape. I actually didn't read any spoilers- I used to be such a spoiler junkie, back when I invested too much emotional energy in tv shows- so I really had no idea there was going to be a Farscape thing. I mean, besides all the other things that I've chosen to take as Farscape refernces.) It really is true- the only reason I care about SG1 is because Ben & Claudia are in it. I'll miss tonight's ep (I'm running away to Vermont! Because Boston is awesome, man, but if I never left I'd hate my nutjob of a city.) but my friends with the tivo will save it for me. I also hope to be amused. I hope your sense of taste comes back soon.

as often as farscape has stole from other shows, these people need to shut up.

Parody is the sincerest form of flattery.

And as you said Ben and Claudia would not do this in a hurtful way. They would never betray the blood, sweat and tears they put in the show.

The other thing is that Ben and Claudia have a great sense of humor and I would bet that they think the whole thing is just wacky fun.

So to all the bitter nay sayers I say just lighten the hell up and just sit back and laugh with them tonight.
