Look, Ma, More Vids! (Part Three)

Jan 14, 2006 22:05

The sad part is, I'm still not done. But this is part three of the Insane Vid Recs Project (no, I did not pick January for this just because of all the Insane January Vidding Projects going around; it's just a happy, crazy coincidence). Feel free to truck on back to parts two and one. You will particularly want to read the explanation of why you ( Read more... )

Me, in a tone of voice that may have been, in retrospect, perhaps just the teeniest bit too sincere: No! It's the scene where Methos shoots Duncan.
BB: *surprised face*
Me: It's just very...see, and then he shoots him, and it's just...okay. I think it's a sign of true love.

It is! It is true love. Methos is SAVING DUNCAN'S SOUL. But then my first slash fandom was B7, so I, um, kind of imprinted on intra-pairing gunfire.

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE ME WANT TO READ B7. Seriously. I don't care how much Highly Romantic Shooting there is. (Although, um. Is there, you know, a lot of it? And what the hell is B7 about? I've read three stories in it and I'm still not 100% sure.)

And, hmmm. Now that I think about it - doesn't Jack shoot Daniel at some point? Or vice versa? I swear I remember someone saying something about that.

Intra-pairing gunfire: when I shoot you, I mean I love you.

Shooting: it's the new hug!

Um, since you like vids so much, I wanted to reccommend one that makes mego all fannish and drooling I really liked. Assuming you saw the movie 'Serenity'.

Best synched/edited vid I ever saw

Oh, wow. That one really is fabulous. And I say this as someone who doesn't even get Firefly vids most of the time.

Thanks!

The most amazing thing about Killa and T. Jonsey, to my mind, is that they can make a vid like Closer, *and* a really funny one like Momma Told Me Not to Come in the same fandom. Momma really gives you a clear idea of what kind of drugs the Star Trek writers were on at the time, let me tell you.

(And no worries, I can't imagine that anyone would argue about ST:TOS being super-cheesy. It's fun, though. :))

Good ones, I'm guessing. Yeah, Killa and T. Jonesy have a great eye for all kinds of clips, from the ones that suggest, um, certain kinds of things when taken out of context to the ones that make you giggle like a loon. (Seriously. Some of those clips should be the basis of fic challenges. Like, if you can get your characters to do those things, you get, you know, points. Bragging rights. Something. Because - I mean, the one with Kirk doing a Planet of the Apes routine while wearing a very bad boy!Pocahontas costume. Or the one with the weird hopping up and down. Or the one where Spock appears to be Kirk's gladiator. Or...my god, I could do this all day, just from Killa's vids.)

And no worries, I can't imagine that anyone would argue about ST:TOS being super-cheesy.Apparently not. Thank god. I was worried I'd inadvertently committed blasphemy ( ... )

Oh, that's *brilliant.* I'd vote for John being Rodney's gladiator any day, in the SGA version. :) Or Ronon being John's, or...I'd better stop, really. (Maybe Jayne can do the weird hopping--that'd be amusing...)

Re-watch! Seriously, do not even attempt to resist the power of the Closer vid; I think it's got, like, superpowers or something. It was instrumental in making me watch my first - and, to date, only - ST ep ever. (That and Killa's Kirk/Spock ship_manifesto. Her evil is far-reaching.)

Could I have a copy of that Dave Carter and Tracy Grammar song? I love their stuff

I love you forever for linking wolfling's page, because now I have vids with DOYLE in and finding anything fandom with Doyle in has been impossible so far. *squee*

I have several Doyle vids and, I think, some Doyle fic somewhere. My problem is that they're all sad. This is pretty much inevitable, given Doyle's, um, limited time in the series, but...I liked Doyle. A lot. I don't want to be reminded of his death all that often, you know? (I still refuse to watch the ep in which he dies; I mostly pretend that it never happened.)

Wolfling's vids are all very much worth watching, Doyle one most definitely included. It's just...Doyle.

I adored Doyle. I've just very recently gotten into BtVS and AtS, and I only watched Doyle's last episode just this week. (It's a very good episode, for the record. Lots of prettiness and woobie.) The only Doyle fic I've found is some stuff on the Buffy Secret Slasha, which has about three Angel/Doyle fics, one of which was eh, the other of which was mostly Cordelia-centric, and the last one of which was an AU that managed to hurt more than the actual episode where Doyle died. Plus wolfling's stuff that I found today. Not much, all told, though I have gone and downloaded all her BtVS/AtS vids, so I have Doyle on hand.

I adore Doyle (as you might have been able to tell) and there's just not enough good Doyle fic and vids out there.

There's a few fics out there though that are worth tracking down, Skelping by mpoetess for one and Strawberry Fields by keelywolfe for another, off the top of my head. There's also a few AUs and such out there, such as Doyle Investigations.

But yes, I desperately wish for more Doyle fic and vids (and more Doyle vids that aren't just focused on his death, which granted even I have made one of, but still...)
