Her energy, his, the creatures', and the infant's. His headache was bastard child to one of them, if not to all. And the mirrors were - were staring. Everything had been, since the moment he'd woken, and the living things that could breathe, and touch, and fail to reason gave the least of his trouble. At least those, fittingly, died.

He kept his own counsel for long moments, passing by her to the nearest sink, and staring down the dirt of it all.

"You'll fall easier with a weapon you can't balance," he gave after a few seconds of stupor, turning the tap on. A woman armed poorly with a heavy weapon was more the danger to herself, and useless in combat, but if it brought her comfort, let her keep it. Provided her benefits outweighed the current inconvenience of her presence - of whatever she was doing to him, to them - he would soon find or fashion her a dagger ( ... )

Fucking house. Fucking kitchen. Fucking rotThis whole damned place was falling apart, and everything in it was turning absolutely disgusting. The walls were cracking, a few doors he'd had to give some rather vicious shoves to unstick the hinges from their rust, and he'd nearly fallen through one or two places in the floor; a nurse had nearly clipped him in the head because he'd staggered from one of them ( ... )

"I would get stabbed a whole lot easier without a weapon to block, too, Itachi." She smiled cheerfully, peering into the stalls and shaking her head.

"This place runs by its own logic. No science or anything else to define its limits for it." She sighed, pausing to stare at the mirrors. She thought she caught a half glimpse of Vincent, not the Vincent she had known here, but the Vincent she had left at home.

Only a flicker though, she was certain it was simply a wistful fancy.

Her hand drifted up to rest on Seph's padded back.

This place was broken, but it gave such treasures. She had no want for more.

"When you'r-" Her hand tightened on the crowbar when the door was forced open, spell already half cast before her brain caught up with the very human shape in the doorway. She let the spell die, but kept her crowbar in hand. "Hello!" The bright, friendly smile was probably very out of sorts with her current bloodstained appearance.

Danger: ahead in the mirror, under his feet in shaky ground, above his head unhinged tiles, to his right in the woman, to his left in the sink, to his back in a stranger. The mirror yielded little, beyond faces best forgotten - what he could glimpse of the newcomer without turning was the flicker of his shadow at a poor angle. Poorer, if he tilted his head just so. Pathetic. Kakashi hadn't taught his students to deign intruders with either eyes or face, not when the Hyuuga prospered, not with curses and genjutsu so eager to trap the senses ( ... )

The door screamed its protest at his rough treatment, which Hidan ignored; he gave it another hard push to encourage the thing to shut behind him, taking in the scene before him. A woman in a lab coat, splattered with blood and smiling brightly, clutching a crowbar in one hand, a.... something, maybe a gem, in the other, and a bundle strapped against her chest. Something soft and padded, cloth-wrapped, and--was that a baby? Who the fuck would carry a baby around a place like this, seriously? Who would have one here in the first place?

She must've already been pregnant before she came here; nobody could be that stupid, otherwise. Man, it sucked to be her.

And then the other kid.... that was quite possibly one of the most ridiculous get-ups he'd seen recently. What the Hell was that thick purple thing wrapped around his waist? It was too bulky to be nothing but a belt. If the kid wasn't paying attention, someone could just grab it and haul him elsewhere, or just hold him still for long enough to kick his ass ( ... )
