Danger: ahead in the mirror, under his feet in shaky ground, above his head unhinged tiles, to his right in the woman, to his left in the sink, to his back in a stranger. The mirror yielded little, beyond faces best forgotten - what he could glimpse of the newcomer without turning was the flicker of his shadow at a poor angle. Poorer, if he tilted his head just so. Pathetic. Kakashi hadn't taught his students to deign intruders with either eyes or face, not when the Hyuuga prospered, not with curses and genjutsu so eager to trap the senses.

Then again, Kakashi hadn't taught deserters.

He bid his time, leaning over the sink, both hands cupping soiled water to bring it to his face. Too much blood, Danzou's, Karin's, his own, the... creatures', all dried and cold and reeking. The liquid gave him little satisfaction, murky and faint, but it would do. The tips of his hair dragged down under their wet weight, and stripes of dirt claws his nose and forehead. In the mirror, his brother smiled in blessing of Sasuke's new look. Itachi... too many long minutes of that woman uttering his name, invoking his ghost. Yes, enough to drive Sasuke insane. Surely...

"You may," he greeted their... guest shallowly, finally. His permission to enter was unnecessary, yet he would give it all the same. After all, if he could affect authority, he could persuade others that he bore it.
