Re: Fletcher and Sasuke :D tomatocakes June 14 2009, 22:53:23 UTC
If there was one thing Sasuke learned the night before, it was that ghosts could be anything and everything. Itachi had given him the lecture of who to talk to and who not to approach at all, and the former list was rather short.

So now that it was dark outside, and the room was suddenly gone, and there was this huge crowd, Sasuke had no idea what to do. His brother was nowhere in sight, which was limited enough by the darkness. There was grass under his feet, oddly enough, which he missed a lot, but the little things were hard to appreciate when one was surrounded by strangers ( ... )

That didn't sound like something a ghost would say, right? No, probably not, but Sasuke hadn't been paying enough attention to everyone around him to notice everyone's appearance, although, anyone blond would inexplicably stand out his mind. It's always been that way.

"Yeah," Sasuke nodded, trying to picture Itachi in his mind's eye. "He wears a black bathrobe all the time, and looks kinda like me only older and more tired."

Now this was just getting ridiculous. Either this was some weird kind of dream (which would account for the very random and unexplained arrival in a very strange house, then said house just up and disappearing), or Shigure had decided to be funny and slipped something into his food. It wouldn't be surprising if that degenerate kept a stash of GHB hidden somewhere.

"What the hell's going on now?!" the ginger catboy complained loudly.

This was one of the more surprising things Cherry had encountered so far. She was lucky enough to have her reflexes intact; though she'd been walking along the second-story hallway when the house had vanished, she'd managed to land without injury.

Hearing an angry voice, she turned toward the orange-haired boy standing there. "It appears that we are outside."

"No duh, you moron," he snapped. "That part's kind of freaking obvious."

Kyo fumed as people milled around him. Never mind this girl had seemingly fallen out of the sky, it was still a stupid answer. Kyo wanted some answers, damn it!

Break also wanted answers. This house had been unruly from the start, but this was just unacceptable. He was the only one allowed to break the laws of physics this badly. The house was way out of line.

He picked himself up and brushed the dirt from his coat, which was starting to look a little worn. Ciel was missing- well, no matter, he had to be around here somewhere and he still had the boy's ring. He would probably find Break even if Break made no effort to find him. Instead, he was surrounded by strangers; more children.

"Now, now," he sighed, picking some grass out of his hair. "There's no need to yell, little boy. At least we're unharmed."

There was energy here, too much of it, the confusion thick enough to cut.

Normally, Tobi would've thrown his arms up in the air, let out a squawk of indignation and surprise; he'd been in the middle of preparing a dinner for himself, humming under his breath and happily chopping away at a celery stalk. So here he was with a knife in one hand and half of a stalk in another, and the kitchen was gone, along with the house, and none of this made any sense. But it hadn't made sense to begin with. Why they were here or why they couldn't leave, why the world shivered and breathed when they were trapped in that house.

(The world shivers here too, with quiet, violent breaths. He can feel it in the air. It's alive, like the walls had been. This peace is as false as the truce he had signed so many years ago, under warfires burning out in eyes that had gone blind with hope.)

Tobi whirled about in place, looking around for a familiar face. And then he raised up a hand, the one with the celery, and started to call out loudly, " ( ... )

Sasori froze as the scenery fell apart around him, collecting with a muted sort of indignition his puppets before they fell to the ground, carrying them all at once around him with chakra strings before storing them safely in his scroll. Tucking it away, he assessed the situation: it appeared the house had disappeared. He walked to one side and looked down, his eyes dull even as his mind worked quickly to try and figure his chances of escape. But walking endlessly on the choppy water didn't seem like a good idea. Fine. For now he would wait.

And then--that voice. He turned again. Tobi. Of all the people... Sasori sighed, watched, and debated walking over. No, it wasn't worth it.

Zetsu had been in his room--his own room, as thick with the cloying scent of perfume (Sometimes, rotting could have a sort of sweet smell to it too, clogging the nostrils and coating the mouth; living in that room too long was like being bathed in death, and he wondered, wondered what had happened to his god-child-friend in the dark warm basement, and in the bright terrible laboratory. So much hope, so much light, so much joy, so much power.... And yet, where had it gotten him, in the end?) as it had ever been, the one he hadn't really stayed in since Nataku had left. It left a somewhat bitter taste in the back of his mouth, beyond the perfume's influence, to even think about. And it wasn't like he really needed to go there, if he didn't want to; he hadn't left behind anything of importance ( ... )

Itachi had been about to remove his cloak to begin another set of push-ups when the walls began to...melt.

His immediate reaction was to leap backwards, flicking a shuriken from his sleeve into his fingers and scanning for a target (to look and marvel at the glory of it, the lines, the colors, the planes intersecting with pure clarity, such as he had not experienced in a long, long time). His second was to drop his weapon and slap his palms together, hissing a kiai, and slamcrashbang his energies into each other to break the genjutsu. His third reaction was to look around and wonder what in hell was going on.

The prisonhouse was gone. Simply gone, its inhabitants disgorged into the night like the remnants of a meal that had disagreed with the insides of a predator. Itachi scooped up the shuriken he had dropped and considered this new development, pausing to look up into the night sky ( ... )

Satoko drops in hidewithlaughs June 14 2009, 22:38:39 UTC
It started with a a stumble.

Nothing was strange about it though, she just stumbled a little. Until she blacked out. There was no reason why either.

Satoko Hojo felt around her, this didn't feel like a dream. Where was she? Looking up at the cloud veiled sky, it was clear she wasn't in Hinamizawa in a normal situation.

Before anything else could happen, sounds of others not too far off echoed in the distance.

"Hello?... Anyone there?!" She called out. "Anyone? HELP!"

Dropping by the entrance was starting to become a habit of Yosuke's. After all, people could drop in at anytime, and someone had to be there to say hi. Especially at night - it was the worst, and anybody could use a hand then. He was in the middle of this periodic journey when the strangest thing happened ( ... )

Thank goodness, someone was here to help her! The boy in front of her was older for sure, but then again she was used to talking to others around that general age. After all there were plenty at her school. Satoko was, of course, much shorter than her fortunate find. She took a deep breath, trying to calm down a little before answering.

"Where am I?" There was no time for a 'who are you?' and instead she only looked back up. "...How did I get here?"

There wasn't anywhere in particular to go, so Yosuke dropped down to his knees next to her, putting at more of an eye level with her. He didn't have a clue how to start - it was weird enough explaining the regular house, it was even worse explaining it to a little girl (a part of his soul had died when he found Nanako-chan in the house), and now that everything was changing, just what the hell was he supposed to say? Still, he had to say something.

"Um... I'm not really sure. It's never been like this before. There's usually a house and it's just, gone." He sighed and scratched the back of his head - as if she could believe that. It sounded so weird, as weird as the next thing he said. "You probably fell in like the rest of us."

Marisa was looking around the Greenhouse for the mushrooms she needed for her magic fuel, and her search was successful.
"Awesome ze!"

Kneeling down, she grabbed one by the stem and gave it a tug... Only to have the mushroom vanish in her hand... no, not just the mushroom... the whole house was gone!

"Uh... whoops?" she murmured in shock.

Koizumi had been on the way back from the bedroom on his map, which had apparently belonged to him. There were notes on the desk, in his own handwriting though he couldn't remember writing them. A few things about various encounters with ghosts in certain rooms, which he now knew to avoid, and a list of names with short assessments of character beside them. It seemed somehow that he thought there was a data interface in the house, but he had yet to figure out who it was...

But none of this seemed very important when, on his way back to the kitchen, he stepped into the greenhouse and had the whole thing vanish around him. He blinked against the bright sunlight. Not for the first time since he got back from- from wherever he had been during his blackout- he was completely baffled. He looked down at the girl.

"Did you do something?" he asked, not quite accusatory but perhaps a little desperate for a sensible explanation.

"Oh, uh, I was just looking for mushrooms, found some, and suddenly, POOF ze!" she said, raising her arms for emphasis "The whole house is just... gone ze."

Sighing, and shaking her head, she looked at the esper momentarily, and then at the sky.
"Looks like the next night is coming ze... This house... Ugh. Though... maybe this means we can get out of this place now ze?!"

That was actually not very helpful, but he figured he should at least make the best of the situation. And her accent- German, perhaps? Translyvanian? Nothing he was familiar with. She sounded like she stepped out of a bad vampire movie.

"I see..." He rubbed his chin, surveying the island. "How would we, though? There's nothing but grass and sea. Besides, the house has tried very hard to keep us in, I can only assume it has some purpose for us. It wouldn't let go of us so easily. Or that's what I think," he amended, because he couldn't be sure of it.
