She frowned lightly at his comment. Kairi lowered her gaze, nearly talking to her feet. Her expression grew solemn as she spoke, crimson bangs sweeping into her eyes. "Sometimes . . . people come here from different times. I know some of them. They're supposed to dead to the people who know them, but they aren’t. They came here before their death." Itachi had talked about how Sasori was supposed to be dead - described his death in detail, in fact, even though Sasori denied it. And then there was Sasuke . . . Sasuke, from the past. It was all very weird, but it looked like Dollsy did not discriminate between time periods, and rather threw them into there along with the chaos ( ... )

Sometimes . . . people come here from different times.

That would explain why she said he had kidnapped her already, and he had yet to do so. He wanted to smirk and ask if she had been hitting the bottle too hard, if maybe she had a little too much to drink and couldn't tell reality from imagination. Except she looked too serious. It was daunting. It made him hold back where he normally would have with a stranger. They weren't friends, hardly even acquaintances, but her being from the same general universe put her up on the ladder a few steps.

They came here before their death.

He scoffed. Yet, he still followed her gaze up to the ceiling. To the trio she looked like she was apart of but couldn't possibly be, since she was standing right here in front of him. Axel was starting to get a headache. He lifted a hand up to his temple and slackened his hand on the railing. She was right- about Sora. He wouldn't lie. He was all that was good and proper, and would probably be awful at it ( ... )

Axel suddenly didn't look too okay. The small frown remained on her lips, wondering what he was planning. Was he taking all of this information in? He had to be. Finally, someone who was actually listening to her. As he sat down, his back facing her, she wondered how oblivious he really was. She had a keyblade now. If she was angry or scared enough, she could take it out and whack him a good one on the back of his head. Maybe it wouldn’t kill him, but it would be enough to knock him out. Knock him out long enough to let her run. But why would the innocent, sweet, kind, and pure-hearted princess do such a thing? In this house, she'd experience things that weren't too nice. When Sora was here, she got the skin of her arm ripped off of her by a little ghost boy she trusted too much. Only days after she arrived, she was nearly killed by a paranoid Akatsuki member, an inch near death or eternal servitude as a doll. Monster dogs had tried to attack her. Her friend had nearly died, and she had had to save him by doing something she didn't ( ... )

After everything he had been through, he knew better than to underestimate anyone. Even someone like Kairi. Every rose had its thorns, and the amount of damage the smallest prick could do was staggering. If she made any sudden movements, he was ready to spring to his feet and turn around, chakrams blazing. It wasn't that he thought she didn't have the bite in her, because everyone did when pushed far enough, but against his better judgment, he was thinking she would refrain. Axel wasn't going to take this information lying down, nor was he going to wallow in it like some lost slob. There was just so much more he needed to know, and it couldn't hurt to try and milk this conversation for as much as it was worth ( ... )

Fine. If he didn't make any sudden moves, she wouldn't, either. He seemed pretty withdrawn and not very on guard, but she knew that she couldn't underestimate him. At least he wasn't playing his games anymore. "How would you know? You never met me." Her voice hinted at sarcasm, still finding it a little odd that she had met one of her own - as in, someone she'd met before this house - from a time before the time she was taken from. At least he might not have the same hostility against her, now that his plan to kidnap her was ruined ( ... )
