After everything he had been through, he knew better than to underestimate anyone. Even someone like Kairi. Every rose had its thorns, and the amount of damage the smallest prick could do was staggering. If she made any sudden movements, he was ready to spring to his feet and turn around, chakrams blazing. It wasn't that he thought she didn't have the bite in her, because everyone did when pushed far enough, but against his better judgment, he was thinking she would refrain. Axel wasn't going to take this information lying down, nor was he going to wallow in it like some lost slob. There was just so much more he needed to know, and it couldn't hurt to try and milk this conversation for as much as it was worth.

He turned on the stairs, back pressed against the wall. He was sitting sideways, that way if he turned his head he had a clear view of her. Except mostly he stared beyond the railing and kept his attention on her out of the corner of his eye. What good would kidnapping her do him now? He didn't have a whole lot to gain- not here.

His expression was blank and unsympathetic at her words. Likely she wouldn't believe it was real coming from him, anyway.

"Three months, huh? Guess you're more of a tough cookie than I thought." It wasn't reassuring, hardly anything from his mouth ever was, but it wasn't as taunting as usual either. In his own bizarre way, it was a compliment.

"And your friends?" He asked, with a vague hand gesture towards the ceiling. Were they here, had they ever been, did she miss them? He didn't particularly care how she answered.
