I think they will keep the Eric/Sookie thing - I think there is so much more that Eric can teach Sooks that she NEEDS to learn about vampires. One of the biggest things (and this made me shiver when Eric got directly in her face and said, "I don't take well to threats") that Sookie needs to learn that I don't think Bill can teach her is how ancient and old the vampire history is...how revered their traditions are. Eric has the iron will to do so.
I was disappointed too that Bill cockblocked Eric giving her blood - I haven't even read the books (though I picked up book 1 yesterday) and I wanted that. There's something in the Sookie/Eric dynamic that really appeals to me. He's so powerful yet soft-spoken. He's been around long enough to have seen the many facets of humanity, yet he manages to compel me into thinking that he does everything with good reason. (Besides, I think Sookie/Eric sex would be super HOT.)
Eric is quickly turning into one of my favorite characters.
Hee. He's just totally irresistable to me. I think having read all the books, the insight into his character that they haven't shown yet in the series helps. But he NEVER stops being ruthless, absolutely getting down to business guy, either. He doesn't get woobified, and I REALLY appreciate that

Oh yeah, I think Pam is portrayed as gay, just not as outright gay as Lafayette or even Eddie. I noticed it with her interactions with Sookie and mentioning that she never forgets a pretty face. Also when Bill was digging the hole to bury himself and Jessica she tried to peep up her skirt until Bill told her to leave her alone.
I also don't see any sexual chemistry between her and Eric which lends me to believe that she has her sights set elsewhere. ('Cause come on...Eric? Who wouldn't want to sit on his lap and molest him?)
I had forgotten about those Gay Pam moments. I love that in the books she's this femme gay southern bell -- you've seen how she dresses when she's not working at Fangtasia. I love that. Alan Ball seems to have a better handle on the diversity of lesbians than gay men, for sure. Although Eddie wasn't really a glitter-boi in the same way Lafayette is, either. Eddie was just sort of an old fashioned queen, while Lafayette is a total flamboyant club boy.
I REALLY can't wait to see how/if his character changes. I have to say, Lafayette's GREATLY expanded part on the show is one of the best changes Alan Ball made! Jessica is sliding in at a really close second these days, though.
HEE! It combines two of my favorite things: LOLCats and Eric! LOL
This is one of my favorite Eric icons. I just added a new one of him in the mall from the last episode, because ERIC. IN THE MALL. It's just... so freaking weird, man!
i would really be upset if they did away with the sookie/eric story, it is my favorite. i really love him. lol i liked the jessica/hoyt story line i will be pissed if they make pam straight too. but alan is gay so i am not sure why he would do that.
I think that as lassroyale pointed out above, we've seen little hints about Pam's Lesbianity, we just haven't seen as much on the show as we have in the books yet.
We'll see what happens! Alan has done a great job so far, so I'm not all that worried. ;)
