True Blood S02E03 RUNNING COMMENTARY!

( Here's your weekly fake cut to trueblood_squee!)

But I'm a good girl and I follow my own community's rules. ;)

1. Eric not giving Sookie blood after the attack by the... horned thing. Does this imply, then, that Ball has decided to toss out the entire Eric/Sookie storyline from the books, because if I recall correctly, this is the first time she has his blood and vice versa, isn't it? Isn't that how he finds her when he loses his memory in Dead to the World? I have to say, I don't know how I feel about not going the Eric/Sookie route. Does this mean they're going to whitewash Bill's existence -- the reason why he REALLY came to Bon Temps? I really hope not, because that is one of the darker throughlines of the entire book series, and something would seriously be lost. Besides Eric/Sookie, which is disappointing enough in itself.

2. Are they making Pam straight in the TV series? That's REALLY upsetting to me. Pam being gay in the books is one of the things I like best about her. All the other vampires in this series are pretty much straight -- why does Pam need to be too? Because she's the only woman (besides Jessica)? This might actually be an eventual dealbreaker for me.

I didn't feel as great about this episode as the first two. I don't know if it was the stuff above that kind of turned down my enthusiasm a notch or two, or if it was the sort of transitional nature of the ep. I mean the first two were full of revelations and like, nail-biting moments, and this week wasn't so much.

DON'T FORGET, THE NEXT NEW EP IS IN TWO WEEKS! July 12, that is.
