Bravo. Well done. Great world building and interesting dynamics with the threesome. Having the paradox machine reset Jack was an interesting idea.
This was a great read. Thank you.

Thank you, it was lot of fun to write, although I was really running out of time to get it finished and only sent the last to my beta two days before it had to be posted. I do feel that parts of it are a bit rushed despite the story being 34k long - there should really have been more of Jack's recovery and Ianto and Owen's building relationship, and more of their life in the village after near disastrous fishing trip up to Gwen and Tosh's arrival.

The idea of Jack being reset by the paradox machine is something that I've had kicking around for a while (six years) and started out a short Doctor Who fic http://the-silver-sun.livejournal.com/15716.html written only a couple of weeks after Last of the Time Lords aired.

Wow I love this. I loved the setting on another planet and the idea with the paradox machine. Oh and you took my fave threesome of Torchwood ;-) I´d love to read more of this.

Thank you :) I've had the paradox machine fix idea kicking around for a while and thought that it was time to play with it again. I've not got any definite plans of writing a continuation of this yet as I've got a lot of of stories planned, but maybe one day.

That's a great story! Lots of Jack whumping but that's not why it is great ;) I am a sucker for "stranded on an island and having to survive" stories. I found it an interesting twist that it was not only Jack and Ianto, as usually, but also Owen with them. And yes, I did pick up on the glasses! I found it stupid in "Adam" that just because he was a dorky version of himself, he suddenly needed glasses. So your explanations makes much sense.

And poor Jack suddenly being not immortal anymore. I knew climbing that tree would be trouble...

Thank you :) I do seem to write rather a lot of Jack whump at the moment, although I suppose it kind of happens to him most episodes any ways, so maybe it's kind of to be expected.

I like the 'stuck somewhere have to survive' kind of stories too. There are so many different ways that it can turn out.

With Owen's glasses or lack of I decided that contact lenses were the only thing that made sense, as a glasses and contact wearer myself (although I was nice to Owen and decided his eyes were nowhere near as rubbish as mine).

Sorry, re-reading my words, in case it wasn't clear: Of course I adore whump, I just meant, it's not the ONLY reason why this was a great story. I didn't want to come over as shallow ( ... )

Not shallow at all. I think with Jack it's easier to go don't the psychological whump type route. I think I should write something though that isn't Jack getting hurt in some way though, just for a change (as in the last few fics I've written with him in he's been accidentally shot by an old friend, stabbed by a giant robotic bug, got a truly nasty space fungus infection in his lungs and had a panic attack from going into a mine due to memories of being buried alive - and the not resent ones are actually a great deal more pleasant) I think I need to write nice, happy fic for a change. (Unfortunately the one I'm currently writing is it ( ... )

*still blushing from the mention at the beginning*

Wonderful, wonderful story!!!! I loved it!

So who was the kid that Ianto recognised? I'm dying to know!

You know what, I'm actually glad that you didn't include it in the story. I might have skipped over it. When my heroes are in danger, I just hurry to read on as I want to know what happens next (sometimes I go back and read the in-betweens later, though). So Tosh and Gwen just turning up at the end worked totally fine for me!

That's wonderful :) Tosh and Tommy forever. My list of "to be written" keeps getting longer and longer as well. Once you open up the AU can there's really no end to the parade of bunnies! I'd love to read more :)

I enjoyed reading this story so much that I made myself read it over three days to make it last. Any chance of seeing how the three of them settle back into Torchwood life as a threesome? It doesn't need to be a long story, but there's so many ends to be tied up that it would make great reading.

Thank you!
