Gigi traded shifts at the shop so she could have the night off. Not that she was looking to be social, but Soli had invited her and she’d be a pretty pathetic friend if she said no. It also gave her a good excuse to avoid Miah some more, because yeah, she was still being a chicken about talking to him. She was pretty sure that he hadn’t caught on yet, or if he had, he wasn’t pressing her to find out why. Either way, she'd take any excuse to be away from the house ( ... )

“Fuck you,” Gigi muttered and flipped Soli the bird. “And god, did I not really need to know that.” Didn’t need to know half the things Soli told her really, but that never stopped Soli from sharing. She didn’t get that either; how Soli could just say things, she couldn’t imagine blurting out intimate information like that ( ... )

"I think I'll let Damien do that." Soli chirped, smirking and ignoring Gigi's antics. "You make comments like that Menina, you should expect to get answers you don't really need to hear." It wasn't like she was prone to being a very private person, and Gigi should be used to her honesty by now. Some of it was for shock value as well, to get these reactions from Gigi.

Laughing softly, Soli was a bit relieved when Gigi didn't seem to be ready to make some snide comment. "Sim, Damien said he loves me, and I said it back." She was still surprised that she had, now that she had said it, she knew she felt that way. IT just took him saying it first for her to work up the nerve to put a label on how she felt about him. "Deus, I hadn't even thought about saying it until he had." Soli said, being entirely honest with Gigi. She knew her best friend was thrown for a loop, and that she hadn't been entirely forth coming with information, but by now Gigi should not that often times Soli wasn't aware of how she truly felt in matters of the heart ( ... )

“Do not tell me you only did it out of some fucked up thought that you needed to reciprocate his words.” Gigi said and gave Soli a serious look. She knew Sol had a complicated way of looking at emotions, and god she couldn’t deal if her best friend’s relationship went pear-shaped because she said something she didn’t mean. She was dealing with enough emotional shit already. “That’s not fair to him or you.” She’d probably feel worse for Damien if that happened, since he’d be the one getting his heart broken. Gigi might not be super tight with Soli’s boyfriend, but she liked him, and they were sort of friends. Maybe. And he was a good guy, good guys didn’t deserve to have their hearts stomped on; even if Gigi didn’t understand putting your heart out there to begin with ( ... )

"How long have you known me?" Soli replied, returning Gigi's serious look with one of her own. "Do I ever do anything just for someone else's sake?" She continued. Her friend had a point in asking, and Soli knew this. She would have likely asked the same question if the roles were reversed, which likely just made them both a little jaded. "Sim, I know it's not which is why I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it." Soli pointed out, though she wasn't angry with Gigi for asking any of these questions. After all she knew it came from a place of concern, and they weren't said to be mean or harsh.

Soli had to smile slightly at Gigi's words. "Just checking." She said, laughing softly at the second part. "I never did manage to get you to sleep with me." Soli replied, her tone jokingly sad. "And now I'm pretty sure Damien isn't willing to share."

“How do you even know that you love him, though?” Gigi shot back mostly rhetorically. She wasn’t looking for an answer, not really. Figured that if Soli said she meant it, she did. She just didn’t get it, didn’t understand how Soli; who in some ways was as guarded as Gigi could be, had felt brave enough to make herself vulnerable. This was one of those times that Gigi wished she had a normal outlook on love and emotions, might make this whole thing a whole lot easier to get through. “I’m happy you’re both on the same page and shit, but I just don’t get it, Princess. Don’t take it personal.” She shrugged, “Bet you're wishing your best friend was less emotionally deficient right about now…” Soli deserved someone who would gush and be happy for her, not someone who was so skeptical about it all ( ... )

Heaving a sigh, Soli wasn't surprised by Gigi's question. She couldn't blame her friend for wanting to know how she was sure of it, and Soli knew she couldn't explain it in terms that Gigi would understand, because she didn't even understand it entirely. She just knew that she loved Damien, couldn't really imagine not being with him. "I don't need you to get it Menina, just need you to support me in my decision." That's all she wanted was to know her best friend didn't think she was insane. "Not really, if she was, well, she probably wouldn't be my best friend." They got along because they were both a little broken, even if neither one would often admit to that entirely.

"Newsflash, I'm not really interested anymore either." Soli said with a laugh. She had long ago stopped trying to get Gigi into bed. Really her efforts had never been that gung-ho to begin with.

“Fine, you’ve got all the support you want.” Gigi replied with a shrug, “Not like if I said it was stupid you’d change your mind anyways.” Not that she was jealous that Soli had managed to find someone. She screwed her face up when Soli replied that if she were emotionally different they wouldn’t be as close. “That’s a little fucked up, Princess.” She commented with a small laugh and a shake of her head.

Soli had to laugh at the way Gigi agreed to support her, it was true Gigi fashion and Soli wasn't bothered by it one bit. "Good." She wrinkled her nose and sighed at the second part. "Probably wouldn't, but I would take it into consideration." She valued Gigi's opinion, even if her friend didn't think she did. So maybe her logic was a tad off in her opinion of if Gigi was different, she felt the way she felt and she wasn't going to change her thinking just because Gigi thought it was fucked up. "Deus, every aspect of who we are is the reason we're close, so say we change one thing, that could change the entire dynamic of our friendship." Soli remarked, thinking that was fairly obvious logic, and even Gigi would understand it.

“Oh my god,” Gigi muttered running her fingers through her hair, then pushing it out of her face, “Don’t go getting all philosophical on me, Princess. We’re not like puzzle pieces or something,” She understood what Soli was trying to say though, “and hell, you went and fell in love! If someone had told me a year ago that was going to happen I would have laughed in their face. But I get it, one of us starts acting like we had a lobotomy and it wouldn’t be the same.” She slid off the counter, glancing to see if there was anything else that needed to be moved out to the other room.

“You done with your confessions?” She asked throwing Soli a half smile, “’Cause I think we should probably go see if everyone’s here. You know, play at being social and shit.” Shouldn’t be so bad. Hopefully.

Soli giggled and cast a glance in Gigi's direction. "I don't know, I think we might be puzzle pieces." She said, knowing that her friend was just being herself, and that deep down Gigi understood what she was saying. "Didn't intend to fall in love, it's not like you always get a choice. You'll understand when it happens though, how you might not have expected it, and yet it's the greatest thing in your life. And yeah, it wouldn't be the same if you weren't you, and I wasn't me." She stood just inside the doorway, figuring they could leave the kitchen now that Gigi had jumped off the counter.

"Sim, I'm done." She replied, rolling her eyes slightly, though the effect was lessened by the smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "You might be playing at being social, while I will actually be social, Menina." Soli understood this wasn't Gigi's cup of tea, and she appreciated the fact Gigi was her anyway.

“It’ll never happen for me, Sol.” Gigi muttered, not darkly, it was just something she didn’t believe. You had to want to be vulnerable, and that just wasn’t something she was ready for, “And don’t even think about arguing that.” Because she didn’t need Soli to give her some string of words; that if she’d just be less guarded, less aloof she would find something to make her happy. It wouldn’t improve her mood any, not today.

“No one but you will know that.” Gigi pointed out and headed for the other room. She might not be the most outgoing, or as social as Soli, but she didn’t hate people; and Sol’s friends weren’t awful company.

"Never is a long time, Menina." Soli pointed out, ignoring Gigi's dark tone. She was slowly starting to believe that there was someone for everyone, and sooner or later some guy would be determined enough to break through Gigi's shell and see her for who she was. "I won't argue with you." Because that could end up eating up half their night. Both girls knew how to argue, and both were stubborn enough on their points that neither would back down.

"Sim, that's true." Soli replied with a nod. Anyway she didn't think Gigi completely hated being social, even if her best friend liked to act like she was. "Bet you have a killer poker face, Menina." She smirked, trying to lighten the mood as they slipped into the living room to join everyone else.

Gigi shrugged. “Never said it wasn’t.” Didn’t change that she wasn’t going to hold her breath when it came to finding someone. Even if she did bother, she still had a lot of baggage for whoever it would be to try and deal with.

She smirked. “Probably.” She agreed as she followed Soli out. She didn’t play poker all that much, so she really couldn’t tell for sure, but she was good about keeping a straight face in general, so a poker face couldn’t be that much harder.
