Jack twisted around to follow Daniel's gaze, his brows rising, and a low, soft whistle sounded. "And you don't want to go out there and--" His tones were set to the theatrically disbelieving before he turned his back to the dance floor and gestured towards the bar. "C'mon. That's why they have bars in these places. And," he twisted his head back around to look at the two PhDs again, "good to know they are up on current... cultural practices, just in case you're called upon for some trade." Jack nodded at his friend, his eyes narrowing just a little at the comment about 'fireman's carry'. Not that he thought Daniel couldn't carry her, but if she was that 'off'? "Just make sure she'd done... you know..." He screwed up his face a little in gesture, the action showing distaste. Nothing worse than getting barf down one's back. "Just call--" in case he needed help, yes.. he was sure Daniel knew that ( ... )

Daniel forced his attention away from Ami -- because she really did look incredible tonight -- and turned back to Jack at the sound of the throat clearing. He cocked his head, surprised at Jack's reaction, but then again, he didn't know what sort of reaction he'd anticipated. All Daniel really knew was that Jon and Ami had kept their relationship a secret for a month before Jon's still unexplained rapid hair and nail growth warranted a trip to Dr. Beckett.

And that Jon was Jack once upon a time and the two men had a great deal in common and (Ow. Just . . . don't go there, Daniel. Don't.) The admonishment didn't help, now that Daniel's curiosity had been sparked. But he wasn't going to chase that particular elusive bit of information, not tonight.

"Um ... right," Daniel agreed, returning his glass to the bar as well. "I need to get our darling niece home. I'll see you at the cabin tomorrow."

With a nod to Jack, Daniel turned and headed back toward where he'd left Cassie.
