The party was going strong. The band had taken a short break and had come back stronger than ever. The drinks were flowing, the dancing on the makeshift dance floor was only one of many 'hot spots' of the area, the second stop of a new couple after the first, the bar where they'd met, chatted and decided to get to know each other better.
Within the bar itself, it was extremely difficult to navigate. One had to move sideways in order to pass the large clumps of people; some sitting at the dotted tables around the room, some standing and chatting, and others at the pool table, trying their luck.
Waitresses moved through the crowds with practiced ease, though it seemed even to them that this gathering was more than Moe's ever had before. Not that they were complaining, of course. It was feeling more and more like 'home' every day.
In the back by the tables, Jon O'Neill held a cue stick, the balls on the table struck and in play. He'd just finished his shot, a miss after a mad run of... two balls, and he was relinquishing the turn to his date, the pool shark Fats Ja--
No.
Jon was playing a 'serious' game with Dr. Ami Jackson... who was dressed in the most amazing halter-dress that ever graced any pool-table top. If he was honest with himself, he could very well have admitted to blowing that last shot simply for the chance to see the woman bend over the table for aim. The view was amazing...
As for Cassie, she'd wandered off to the side, her third drink almost complete, a smile lingering on her face. She'd looked around a few times, hoping to catch a glimpse of Mark, her current target of infatuation, but rather than be disappointed in his absence, she found company with her beer and the general tenor of the gathering, that was... extremely upbeat. People were finding 'matches', even if it was only for the night.
She gave a loose smile to Ami and crowed softly in delight when Jon flubbed, waved the almost empty beer glass in her cousin's direction and tsked softly. "Oops."
For Dr. Jennifer Keller's part, she didn't stay for long near the tables where Ami'd had dragged her. Nope... she'd noticed a rather solitary figure in the form of Dr. Carson Beckett at the bar, and figuring that Teyla was safe for the moment, but only after checking with a brief touch on the Athosian's arm, she wandered back, a genuine smile coming to her lips. "Hey, Carson. Why aren't you out there dancing? Isn't that how some of these people are 'paying' us? In dances?"
