He'd taken the job for the travel, Jack reminded himself. Still, there was a fine line between enjoyable languid conversation and heel-dragging, and he was almost positive that the manager of the Braga Broomfleet was trying to slip something past him cloaked in one more glass of wine and one more round of octopus tapas.

As he hurried into the Leaky, worried he'd be late, Jack noticed the auction poster. He'd bid in a rush just last night, on his quick trip back to the office for some forgotten paperwork, and he sighed in relief to see that he'd be spending a day at the dragon preserve. Though Jack didn't think he'd ever actually met Charlie, he liked the Weasleys he did know - and there was always Quidditch or flying if the conversation lagged.

Jack pushed his way through the growing crowd and ordered a pint, looking around the room.

Obviously, thinking Imperio!, please shut the hell up at a visiting trade representative was not very nice, nor was it (alas) effective but really, the old witch had gone on for hours. Finally, she'd decided to toddle off to a pre-theatre dinner and Kevin had made his escape.

He dashed off to the Leaky, quickly shoving his tie in his pocket and rolling uphis shirt sleeves. Kevin was sure he smelled like ink, parchment, and office but hoped Jack wouldn't mind. When he arrived at the bar, he quickly saw Jack meandering through the crowd.

"Hi," he said, leaning in to press his lips briefly against Jack's jaw.
"Sorry I'm late. Long meeting, you know."

A quick glance confirmed Jack's initial thought, and he put his barely-touched pint in Kevin's hand. "Looks like you need this more than me. Be right back." He brushed a kiss across Kevin's forehead and went to get himself a fresh drink, waving to Andy as he crossed the room.

On his way back, Jack slipped through the crowd and up behind Kevin, quietly sliding his arms around the other man's waist. "Missed you," he said softly. "There wasn't a lot to do, other than listen to Senhor Cabral theorize about Bludger weight."

Kevin sipped the beer, grateful. He'd missed Jack a great deal; in this case absence really had made the heart grow fonder. Despite their failure so far to have the time or energy for anything more than a few snogs, Kevin had the odd feeling that he might like to have Jack around for a while.

That he felt that way surprised him, but he was curious to see where it would lead.

When Jack came back, Kevin leaned back against him slightly. "A ringing endorsement," he joked. "Glad you're back, though. How was Portugal?"

It had been a long week, but a good one. Work was pleasantly busy and he felt excited for all the kids, especially ones in Muggle homes who'd be getting their Hogwarts letters this summer. He decided to reward himself with an after hours drink or two, and maybe even meet up with a friend.

When Andy arrived at the bar, there was already a pretty good crowd, even for a Friday. He made his way to the bar and ordered a scotch and soda, in the mood for something stronger than his usual beer.

As he sipped his drink, he glanced around and looked for familiar faces.

Parvati crossed the bar and approached Andy. His back was turned, so she lightly tapped his shoulder.

"Excuse me," she almost whispered,"I'm looking for a young man named Andy Kirke. He's been M.I.A. since I've sent a few owls to him regarding a Quidditch match on Monday. I was hoping to find him so that we could have a drink. Do you think he'll show up tonight?" Parvati winked at him as she set down her purse on the bar and sat down next to him.

Andy was startled to feel the tap, but managed not to slosh his drink out of the glass. When he turned and saw Parvati, however, he smiled broadly. "Parvati!" She looked gorgeous, as usual.

After a moment her woods penetrated his brain and his smile nearly vanished. "Your owls. Um." He flushed scarlet. He really had been meaning to reply, but work had been busy and, well, it was no excuse and really how bloody stupid could he be to not reply to a really pretty girl who apparently wanted to spend time with him.

"I'm really sorry, Parvati. To be such a wanker. I totally meant to owl back. Could I buy you a drink? And if you still want, we can talk about the Quidditch match." He gave her an embarrassed smile.

"A drink? Sounds wonderful." She smiled back. "No worries. Mandy and Romilda and I are going to go to the Quidditch match on Monday. You're welcome to come, if you like. I'd love it if you came and I'm sure the others would, as well."

"I really enjoyed getting to know you last time. I'd hoped you'd like to meet up for a drink, but I'm sure you've been busy and I've practically been a hermit since then."

Parvati turned toward him and looked him straight in the eye.

"So, you participated in the auction, right? Are you happy with what you wound up with?" she asked casually. "I know some people weren't very happy with their outcomes."

The winners for the auction were supposed to be announced on Friday, so Bill closed up the office intending to stop by the Leaky. First he went home and grabbed a bite to eat from his sparse cupboards. After a quick shower and a
change of clothes, he apparated just outside the door.

Wondering who else would have shown up to look at the results, he walked in the door and made his way to the bar.

Severus Snape passed through the Leaky Cauldron with a mind to getting some take away after a long day tinkering in his workshop. Tomorrow the Muggle movers would come to pick up their things and take them to the new house. Severus was not at all pleased with the idea, but as they were moving from a Muggle flat to a house in a Muggle neighborhood, Remus insisted that they do it the Muggle way. Tal was over the moon about the idea of total strangers coming over to carry his things about. Severus was not quite so ecstatic.

He ignored the commotion in the pub at first, trying to get close enough to Tom to place his order when he heard his name. Eyes narrowed, he fought through the crowd and read the list posted at its epicenter.

"What is the meaning of this?" he snarled to no one in particular. Lupin. This was ALL LUPIN'S FAULT. He was going to have to have a word or two with his mate. No one else could be responsible.

Luna had given up writing for the day. Her wrist ached from all of the "practicing" she'd been doing. Being a boy required a lot of "practice" to keep her from coming so quickly. Plus, it was just fun.

She had an idea for the twins about making a potion that would make the sperm a different color or flavor, but they still weren't back, evidently, so she instead pondered asking about ordering the gender bending jelly in bulk. Surely there had to be a better way to do it long term, but then... the jelly was pretty tasty.

Since she hadn't had an opportunity to wear her blue dress ensemble, she decided too now, and was quite pleased with the result. The scarf really pulled the whole thing together, she thought ( ... )

Severus squinted at the young blonde bint chattering away at him. He tried to place her, thinking back all those years ago... he seemed to remember her in an appalling roaring-lion hat.

"Ah, Ms. Lovegood," he said, the name coming to him in a moment of inspiration, "Not wearing radishes dangling from our ears today, I see. How dreadful- were they moldy?"

Luna laughed. And laughed. Then she laughed more!

"Oh no! There aren't any Radrigals in London! They only infest Hogwarts! Why would I need to wear radishes in London?" She shook her head and gave Snape an indulgent look as if he were so very ignorant.

She threw her arms around Snape to hug him and sprung back before he had a chance to reject the affection. "Oh goodness, I forgot how funny you were! I only wish I'd been in Slytherin! Then I would've met Theo sooner and would've gotten to laugh all of the time! Although Professor Flitwick was very kind. Very kind. But not nearly so funny as you!" she exclaimed before pinching his cheek.

"Did you see the article I wrote about you?"

It had been a while since Fleur had gone into the Leaky, about the length of time between signing up for the auction and now actually. She was dressed smartly in a pale grey blue pants suit with a cream coloured blouse beneath, a darker blue low heel and a matching handbag over her shoulder. Her hair had been growing out lately, so it was pulled back in a simple ponytail and held back with a pretty flower clip in a bright pink. That said, she still ignored when the random people in her near proximity were giving her the eye, toning down the Veela-ness of it all only went so far. She had a goal in mind. It was that poster announcing who had won who.

Fleur nudged her way to a space where she was able to read it and her eyes widened, her heart possibly skipping a beat. Bill Weasley. Bill Weasley had won her. Well this could get interesting. Maybe after she got over her shock, she could pay attention to everyone else in the bar.

After Bill had grabbed his drink, he wandered over to scan the list for the results. He'd seen Sirius, but he looked involved in a conversation and Bill didn't want to intrude. Likewise, he'd seen Pansy talking to Narcissa, but he wasn't quite sure he was ready for a face to face encounter with his ex-girlfriend.

There was someone standing right in front of the poster, blocking his view. She was a tall woman, with sleek blonde hair that was pulled back. If she'd turn around, he was sure he'd recognize her.

"Excuse me, but could I see the list also?" he asked politely.

"Of... Of course." Fleur's French accent was barely a burr in her voice now, giving just the flavour of a note that she was not from around here. And then she turned to face the gentleman asking to see the list, even as she moved a little out of the way so the view of the poster was free. Fate has a funny way about things. She made a mental note to just get herself centered before she did or said anything else.

She quirked her lips as she looked over the face she hadn't seen in a long while, reigning herself in as much as possible before murmering, "Allo Bill... It has been a while, oui?"

It seemed that fate wouldn't allow him to get off easy for whatever reason. Fleur had changed over the years, and grown into a beautiful woman. Her soft lips and dreamy eyes were still enough for a man to get lost in. Mentally he shook himself before that could happen.

Fleur. Another brief relationship that had gone bad it became obvious she was looking for something he couldn't provide: Stability, reliability, and a commitment.

"Good evening Fleur," he answered politely. "I didn't realize you were living around here still. Did you enter the auction as well?"
