Magical mishap or not, this was fucking ridiculous. Lucius Malfoy? Lucius Malfoy??? Former Death Eater and all around hater of Muggles and Mugleborns, and Zach had won him.

Okay, in this case he had actually bid on the bloke, unlike some murmurs he heard from around the room, but it had just been a bloody joke. He certainly hadn't placed a high bid because the idea of wasting money on Lucius fucking Malfoy wasn't one that gave him much pleasure so he knew there was no way he could have won if things had been normal ( ... )

Chambers surveyed the pub with impish relish. Oh so many desperate sods to mock. It was the only reason he was attending the gala. War recovery was truly a worthy cause. He didn't believe in being glorified human chattel, however. So he'd simply written out a cheque for a quite sizable amount and sent it into the organisers. He'd done his good deed for the year. Now he deserved some playtime.

Thus, open season.

Chambers spotted several fashion faux pas on his way over to the 'winner's' list. He himself was dressed casually but tastefully. Although he had put on a black tie just to be an arse. One particular number was so atrocious, he was tempted to drag the man with him and find Roger. By a sheer act of Will, Chambers did not. Roger was getting drinks. Chambers was getting cannon fodder. Instead, he smirked and rolled his eyes when the fashion idiot attempted to make flirty eyes with him. Please, as if Chambers was that desperate.

Except, it would seem he was upon looking at the Chattel List ( ... )
