She’s probably being ridiculous. Somewhere, deep down, Lexie is entirely aware of this, though not enough to question doing so in the first place. The thing about sex with Alex is that it’s exactly that: sex. No feelings, no strings attached, just a way of having fun. After all she’s been through lately, she deserves this, a chance to feel good ( Read more... )

Gideon had been stooped over a pile of his clothes when he noticed - well, heard - someone speak behind him. Considering the fact five seconds before, it came to no surprise that his initial response was to just fucking whirl around toward the voice. Nothing could actually prepare him for what he found. A better person might've turned around immediately or done something that wasn't just fucking staring at the stranger just sitting up in bed like she was meant to be there. Gideon wasn't one of those people.

"You're either really, really fucking forward or some weird shit is going on right now," he said when he realized just staring was probably not the right way to deal with this, eyebrow raised up in her direction.

"No, you think?" Lexie asked, like it was the most obvious thing in the world, panic creeping into her voice when she realized that she didn't even recognize this guy, any more than she recognized the room she was in. Still clinging to the sheet as if for dear life, she inched backwards on the bed, as if that would make any difference. It didn't. She was still God knew where, covered with only a sheet in front of a perfect stranger, and in no way was that something she was okay with. "I'm - I'm not - I don't do this, I don't even know who you are. What am I doing here?"

She'd snapped. She had to have snapped, it was the only thing that made any sense whatsoever. Unsurprisingly, the thought wasn't remotely comforting.

"I was about to ask you the same thing," he replied. Was this a new island thing? Gideon didn't doubt anything anymore. He wasn't fucking heartless, though, so he did make sure he didn't look...menacing, or whatever. He also leaned down to take the biggest shirt he could spot from his clothes pile, tossing it onto the bed in case she wanted to take it. "Here, take that. I have no idea why you're here. You weren't a few seconds ago, and suddenly I turn around and you're just fucking there. What's the last thing you remember?"

Biting back a comment about how that wasn't really any of his business, Lexie huffed out a sigh, though she managed to shoot him a grateful look as she picked up the shirt. At least he didn't seem to be some sort of psychopath or perv or something. It wouldn't have accounted for why she suddenly wasn't at Meredith's, but it was hard to keep the thought from briefly crossing her mind, given that she was suddenly in the bed of some strange man.

"I was in a bed," she explained, like that much didn't speak for itself, "and not this one, waiting for my..." Unsure quite how to categorize Alex, she shook her head, opting for something else instead. "Waiting for someone who isn't you, and then, like you said, I'm just here." For a moment, she considered how to put the shirt on without exposing anything, and settled on holding up a corner of the sheet with her teeth so she could tug the shirt over her head. The blanket, she let fall around her waist, its position there still incredibly necessary. "So... what? I'm guessing this sort of thing ( ... )

Meredith's been sleeping facing toward Sean instead of away lately, for the simple reason that her injured ribs basically force her to. It's not what she's always done, but she's getting used to it now, becoming more comfortable with it. She's just trying to stay asleep a few minutes more when the mattress shifts beside her and a woman speaks. Her eyes fly open, but her first instinct is to press closer to Sean, hoping it's just the end of some weird dream she didn't know she was having.

It's just a moment and then she sits bolt upright, holding the blankets tight against herself as she turns toward the intruder. This isn't the house in Seattle; they live alone and there's no reason one of her friends might come creeping in here. "What are you doing?" she snaps. "Get out, get o- Lexie? Oh my god." It's entirely possible, in this stupid place, that it's not her at all, but that doesn't even cross her still-waking mind.

Awful and inexplicable as this whole situation is, Lexie can't help feeling overwhelmingly relieved when she realizes it's Meredith beside her, letting out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. It doesn't make sense of any of this, doesn't explain why they aren't in her house or how she so suddenly got here, but at least she isn't here alone. That the man beside Meredith isn't Derek Shepherd is something that doesn't even cross her mind yet, being too distracted by everything else to pay him much mind.

"Meredith, thank God," she says on an exhale, still holding the blanket over her chest with one hand, the other reaching for her sister's shoulder. "Do you know what's going on? Because I swear, this isn't like any part of your house I've seen before, and that's definitely where I was a few seconds ago."

Sean winces and curls in on himself a bit when Meredith jerks up in bed, the beginnings of a slight hangover dulling his reactions, but when it registers that she's talking to somebody who isn't him, that comes to a swift end.

"What in the bloody blue blazes is all this?" he spits, bewildered as he roughly pushes himself up, a hand defensively reaching in front of Meredith.

Meredith freezes, gaze darting between the two of them, each reaching for her, and suddenly feels she has no freaking clue what's happening. It is way, way too soon after waking up to be dealing with this.

Jerking back from Lexie, she takes Sean's hand. Now that she knows who this is, she's relaxing a little. There's no threat here. It's just irritating. "This is Lexie," she says darkly before it occurs to her that that's not actually an explanation. "My ha- One of my father's other daughters. Lexie, this is my house, it's just a different house. You're not in Seattle anymore. You're on a, a - I can't do this, you need to put on some clothes."

Sam Crew has had a lot of strange things happen to him in his short little life. But having a naked lady show up in his crib is maybe the strangest. He takes it stride, however, like most things and reaches up to pat her leg, offering an enthusiastic, "Hi!"

His mother, however, rolls violently out of bed as she's woken up, grabbing the nearest weapon, a shoe, and stumbles over to his bed.

"What the hell?" she shrieks, still half asleep and half unfocused.

Lexie has only a moment to look horror-struck at the sight of the child a few inches from her before the woman who can only be his mother makes an appearance, wielding a shoe. Ordinarily, Lexie wouldn't think of it as much of a threat, but as it is, so rattled already, she claps a hand over her mouth, shrinking backwards as if that will make a bit of difference. It doesn't.

"Please don't hurt me," she says, the words slightly muffled, eyes growing wide like she might be about to cry. "I swear to God, I don't even know where I am, I wasn't - I was just at home."

Kate blinks a few times as that finally registers. "Oh good Lord," she huffs, dropping the shoe. "Two in one day are you freaking kidding me? Are you naked? And new, I assume?"

Sam, sensing that something is perhaps not right about this, judging from his mom's reaction, frowns and pulls his toys towards him, just in case.

"Um, yeah," Lexie says with a short, mirthless laugh, like it isn't obvious enough that she isn't wearing anything. The rest, she can't make any sense of at all, and she shakes her head. At least, she tells herself, it could be worse. She's no longer being threatened with a shoe for something she didn't have any control over at all. "I don't know what you mean by new."

"Oh my God," Jean echoes taking a rapid step backwards, turning her head away for the sake of the girl who has just turned up in her bed. Why this woman might be here is beyond her and who she is hasn't even begun to be asked.

All Jean knows is that no one had been there when she had walked through it, giving it a once over before continuing her mission to tidy things up at least a little. This is certainly unexpected and strange in a way that is even new to her. "What are you doing here?"

"I don't know!" Lexie answers immediately, all but whimpering in response to the question, her face falling. As far as reactions to this crazy situation go, she supposes this woman's could have been a whole lot worse, but that doesn't make it any more comforting when she, apparently, isn't the only one who doesn't know what's going on. "I don't even know where here is!"

The whimper tugged at Jean's heartstrings. She couldn't help it. There are a million questions racing through her head, but the first ones that spring to mind are borne out of concern.

"My house. On an island called Tabula Rasa," she says eyes still covered as she turns her head back. "Where were you before?"

"I was at my house," Lexie replies, eyes widening. "Or, not my house, but my sister's house, which is close enough. In Seattle, which isn't anything like an island. How did I get here?" It's too strange, too sudden, and all she can think is that either she or this woman or both must be crazy, because that just doesn't make any sense.

Now, Hawkeye had woken up to find naked strangers in his bed on many an occasion, but it wasn't very often that he came back from a clinic shift and found the same thing. When he entered his hut - which hadn't been in a very good way since the hurricane, the roof now blown open to the elements - he did his normal routine of kicking off his sneakers and heading over to the still for a well-earned drink, and it was only on his way back out to the porch when he realised he had company.

He paused. Rubbed his eyes. Nope, it wasn't his imagination running away from him, his bed really did have a pretty blonde girl with no clothes snuggled up inside it, and he hadn't done a damn thing to get her in there.

"Not that I'm not flattered," he said, and took a sip from his martini, "But this is a bit forward even by my standards."

"Oh, my -" Lexie started to blurt out, still having come up with nothing more coherent. If suddenly being in a strange, roofless place was bad, being faced with a strange man so casually sipping a martini was even worse. Tensing, she held onto her sheet more tightly, as it was about the only defense she had. There were any number of worst-case scenarios suddenly filling her head, but she did her best to silence them all, reminding herself that he didn't seem to know what was going on, either.

She drew in a deep breath, a failed attempt at keeping herself calm, and continued after hardly a moment's pause. "Look, I'm not trying to be forward," she said, noticeable panic in her voice. "I don't know who you are, or where I am, but this definitely isn't where I was supposed to be."

Hawkeye pulled up a chair and sat down. Going by the look of utter confusion on her face, it looked like he'd have to be giving the welcome speech again. If these got any more frequent, he'd start handing out complimentary muffin baskets.

"And where were you meant to be, with no clothes on, in the middle of the day?" he said, raising an eyebrow. One potential non-sexual explanation suggested itself, and he tensed slightly. "You're not ill, are you?" Any contagious would have to be dealt with quickly; it could tear right through a community as small and enclosed as this.

"What?" Lexie asked, pulling a face at the very suggestion of it, almost incredulous. "No. No, I'm not sick, I'm a doctor." It occured to her the moment after she spoke that that wasn't something that would have any bearing on whether or not she was ill, but it was something worth mentioning anyway. Eying him warily, well aware that she was presumably sitting on his bed not wearing anything, she shook her head. "I was just - well, it wasn't the middle of the day, for one, it was morning, and I was waiting for my - waiting for someone, because, if you must know, I wanted to get laid before going to work. Only then I was here."
